THERE CAN BE MORE THAN ONE REASON FOR THE TEMPERATURE/OVERHEAT/COOLANT LIGHT TO FLASH.WHEN IT FLASHES WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING AND THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE IS NOT WORKING IT CAN INDICATE A POSSIBLE OPEN CIRCUIT ON THE PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD OR GAUGE ITS SELF. A PROCESS OF ELIMINATION IS REQUIRED TO FIND THE FAULT.

Hi Roger thanks for your clip . Awesome for me to know exactly how to remove the complex bumper attachment . You’ve shown where you attach the compressor 👍 but not where you attached the air horn horn bugles as there’s very little space in that engine bay . Cheers mate . John Thomas

So helpful. Thank you so much
Thank you. this is exactly what i was looking for
Did you have any problems, errors or check lights after unplugging the radar sensor and plugging it back in?
No problems
No problems.
I tried this no resolution
Thank you so mich for the video, I checked my dash and what i found is that the screw was a bit loose😅
NICE WORK ROGER! Using your examples, I tackled mine (2022 C-HR XLE - USA model) this week. I knew I would not be able to drop the bumper (would not have wanted to anyway), so after removing the top plastic cowling like you did - using a flash light, I found the horn, top height on the radiator slightly to the right. To see it, I had to stoop down, directly facing the front grill as I could not see anything looking down from the top. I was also able to see the connector wire. Lucky for me, I have a set of 16 inch long PITTSBURGH Long Reach Straight Nose Pliers. I first used a rigid metal wire to hold the wire so it did not fall to the bottom, and then carefully using the pliers, squeezed and pulled the standard Toyota wire connector from the hockey puck size horn. Took all of 5 minutes but you have to be careful that you don’t damage the connector or accidently cut or ‘pull out’ the wire attached to it - it’s super thin. I had already bought (Amazon): FIAMM Freeway Blasters Set (Hi / Low), $9 each (I have used these on both motorcycles) FARBIN Horn Wiring Harness Relay Kit - 80a 4 pin, $10 FARBIN Special Plug Compatible with Toyota Adapter Pigtail Socket Connector, $9 Using the metal riser that the plastic cowling is attached to (the one on the driver’s side), I drilled a decent size hole big enough for a bolt that would hold / support both horns. Used lock washers / nut to secure and the bolt was long enough to also attach the FIAMM grounding wires using a second nut (on the same bolt). Using the wiring harness / relay diagram, attached it to the horns and battery. You do have to run a 2-3 foot wire down from the where the horns / harness are located, to the front grill area to attach to the original horn connector (trigger wire). Tested, taped up wires and zipped tied where needed - done deal! I’m definitely not a pro installer but I’m super happy with this install! It looks and works great, it’s safe and everything is functional using inexpensive, plug-and-play components. I’m also thrilled because it was done without removing the bumper as EVERYONE said needed to be done. Btw, my Toyota dealer said they could have a third party aftermarket shop do it but the cost would be $4-5 hundred depending on what equipment was selected. I also like that if needed, the original horn can be reconnected. NOTE: The relay / harness made the horns almost 2 x louder than when I first connected them directly to the 12 volt original trigger wire - this worked but you could tell from the sound that something was wrong. From my research, I also found out that the relay will prevent the higher voltage draw from the 2 horns from damaging (burning up) the lightweight Toyota wiring.
It’s good to see that you don’t have to remove the bumper as it’s a right pain in the a . . e We’ll done.
Thanks!
would have enjoyed seeing how you adjusted it when installing it/fitting it
It was a bit too long for a video!
Thanks for the video. Much needed/improved horn! Surprisingly not a lot of videos on changing the horn on a CHR. Thanks again. A1
I use brake cleaner here in Canada as well, Many brake cleaners are simply heptane and CO2!
Thank you for this video
Hi. This white rubber buffer look long? when the car is lowers will it almost rest on the rubber buffer? or the stem still has a way to work. (in my case i'm mounting it on a bilstein b12 prokit -30mm)
Hi, My car is stock so not sure of the requirement of a lowered vehicle
Tried to remove the front bumper. Left recht under every screw. But can not take it of. Is there in the mittle some clips?
There’s a UA-cam video on how to remove the bumper. I can’t remember the exact sequence.
Huge help I had the same issue, thanks for the video 🦘
Can horn be replaced in toyota chr without removing the bumper ?
I don’t think so as you have to get to the feed wire on the existing horn.

Did this unit work well long term? I note you posted this 3 years ago.
In actual fact I took this unit off and kept it as a spare whilst travelling, so I have no idea how long it may last, but I know that they are also used in the Mk2 golf so must be ok.
Does that thing overheats because I got a problem with my fuel gauge it works only if it cold
I think they can be damaged by thermal runaway, so easiest thin is just to replace it.
Buenas necesito este video en español por favor
For me it was a weird relay that had some "special" solution inside it, however it was on 16v, perhaps different there It was very expensive to buy a new relay of same kind, but luckily I had it second hand
Sorry I have no knowledge of that relay.
How about when light starts blinking and gauge works and soon after light goes off and gauge dies? I've changes now two new regulators, maybe those were bad quality?
Hi, Did you check the voltage on the stabiliser when your gauge died?
If the gauge is working on the bypass test then it can only be a fault with the circuit board or voltage stabiliser.
Informative, thanks.

Thank you so much for uploading this video.. helped me out so much from rebuilding a set of clocks
I had the same problem today.., thanks to this video i could fix it.
Thank you! Very useful....any tips for the coils as well?
Sorry no tips for the coils
@@rogerc2637 is it still going strong? or is there any issues with the ignition module? Thank yoi
@@user-be9qp9lz7s Sorry, I can't answer this as fitting it was only an experiment because I had already bought a new one. I keep it as a spare on long journeys in case the new one fails.
are you still using this ignition even now in 2022? have you had any probs with it?
Cheers for showing how to assemble it I’ve brought a jetta and they not put it back together probably on the rear shocks
Thank You...most people will miss this and look at the fuel sender etc....Great video
Where did you find the top hat thing that rusted out or a part number mine has same issue all rotted out...
For me neither the temp or fuel gauge work on my new GTD instrument cluster and they did work when I tested the cluster after purchase. When I plug in a different cluster, they work, but obviously who wants a standard cluster in their GTD, right? Could issue be a missing washer on the voltage stabilizer(VS), a faulty VS or faulty gauges?
Check that you get 10volts from the voltage stabiliser, you will have to remove the instrument panel and then plug it in and turn on the ignition.
@@rogerc2637 I fixed it. Replaced the faulty voltage regulator/stabilizer with the one from an old instrument cluster and it works now.
@@astanisystems Well done.

Hi. Thank you for the video. I have another issue with the temp sensor.. on the mornings when the engine is cold, when I turn on the ignition the water temp goes up to middle position automatically with a cold engine.. and when the engine is running the temp level go up and the temp led starts to blink.. so frickin annoying.. I've tried to disconnect both the NEW Ntc sensors and has the same problem with the ignition on. Strange.. should I try to clean circuit board as well in video? Any help should be great!! Thank you!
Very concise. Thank you for posting this.
Hi i have the rpm not working if u can help me
Thank you!!!!
Sure it works for what? A week? A month? If you plan to keep the bike and enjoy lots of miles invest in quality parts, not the most affordable. Lovely bike though!
thanks boss !
