I too selfishly wished that DS9 could've went on for at least two more seasons in most part because it was my favorite trek series out of all of them, but at the end of it nana was right about the series ending when it did 🙂
My very favorite show ❤️🖖🏻
An amazing character in a whole show of amazing characters!
Didn't like her at the start, was in love with her by the end. Great character arc in a series full of character arcs. The best Star Trek series
but you can rebuild.
I love this film.
How awesome to see Dumbledore teaching Jesus! 🤣
To read and write?
Nana Visitor did a nice job in the part. I don't think she or her family have a military background, but she had a connection to the character that made her very effective.
She was a Broadway chorus line dancer. Yes she was awesome.
Kira did not have a military background either, she was a terrorist.
@@VuotoPneumaNN She adopted pretty quick, becoming a Field Grade Officer in both the Bajoran Militia AND Star Fleet . . . .
@@JohnMinehan-lx9ts Yeah she adapted in the course of 7 years. In the first few seasons she doesn't come off as very attuned to military discipline. Anyway, actors don't really have to have a background in what their characters do, they can simply... you know... act.
@@VuotoPneumaNN Per the anecdote about Olivier and Dustin Hoffmann . . . . But, sometimes it helps to be familiar with things. James Stewart usually did not play military officers, but in playing characters who had to make life and death decisions, his WWII USAAF background showed in his face (sort of that, "Damn, I know how this feels!").
what's up with her nose?
bajorans are aliens, albeit similar to humans. the main difference is the nose ridges between their eyes. they often have earings to denote their faith and individual families. I believe they live to be a little older than us as well. not sure about differences in organs etc but i’m sure there are some.
nothing
Thank you so much ive been stuck for like an hour
They should have made a couple of movies for DS9. Especially the Dominion storyline.
Movie Centered Around Quark and The Ferengi Would be Good
@@Brick-so1ig That kind of production could be worth its weight in gold press latinum
My heart is with you but my head says no. They squirted like one good TNG film (though I maintain "Generations" is underrated and was doomed from the start). Know when to stop.
Man. Kira was the best first officer. She's right that they could have kept going. All the new trek and reboots and timelines and really the aftermath of the dominion war, rebuilding cardassia, cold war with the romulans, the future of bajor were all interesting threads.
"Nothing justifies genocide". Very important message for 2024. You hear that Israel.
Most Israelis don't like netanyahu to begin with. And they saw what this war was really about. Netanyahu is a lot like Trump, He's doing things while he's in power trying to keep himself in power.
Hell yeah
Learn what genocide is. It's NOT destroying terrorist groups that attempted genocide on you.
I had a major attraction to Kira's character and presence...Way more than Dax.
She was awesome
Tue for both Daxes, of which I prefer Ezri.
Dax kinda tried too hard. Her quips kind of smelled of insecurity.
Same
@@Goodburger364-wb2ydI can get with kira or the half kilgon and seven. I like all jocky, badarse and smart women
Writers Really dropped the ball on the aftermath of forced surrogacy. She should have had some emotional issues surrounding liss, her mom/family and maybe, dealing with the question of being a mom and working or not working and going back to Bajor. They didnt miss the relationship parts for sure. Typical but the male writers kinda missed the mark with this and the death of jadzia
The absolute love of my life
Odo.... the shapeshifter
Any episode where Kira has face to face interactions with a Cardassian is going to be a good viewing. With Damar and Dukat especially.
"Yes Dukat, what kind of people give those orders", I've seen that scene a million times and it still gives me chills.
@@VuotoPneumaNN /nudge nudge…Damar 😉
Nana did a good job playing the Bajoran major…even though her character was ugly.
If your country gets invaded by a cruel power, it better has some of these "ugly" characters. And she also did a good job playing the colonel.
What a women❤❤
Love her
What a fantastic episode "Duet" is. I rewatched it recently on Paramount.
Abominable acting destroys the integrity of Star Trek. There are two characters who's appalling acting is hard to watch and embarrassinly cringing. They are the "Wooden" Avery Brooks, who plays Commander Sisko and worst of all Kira Nerys, played by Nana Visitor. How on earth that woman ever made it through acting school is beyond belief. Nana Visitor has got to be the epitome of atrocious acting. She is absolutely awful and unbearable to tolerate.
Lol Jesus 😂
I'd like a little more explanation if you could (not being sarcastic, I genuinely mean it). What specifically makes their performances so abominable? I'm genuinely curious because these two actors don't often get that sort of title from fans. Usually poor acting goes to actors like Marina Sirtis, Gates McFadden, Robert Beltram, or heck even William Shatner or Leonard Nimoy himself (which I know is like sacrilege). To an extent I can even agree with fans about those previously mentioned, but even so I don't believe their acting in anyway destroys the integrity of Star Trek. The same of course goes for the two you've mentioned here, I believe that yes Avery Brooks can be wooden, but when he gets serious and emotional he really hits home, and while during my first watch through Kira was not my personal favorite character I did have a great admiration for Nana Visitors acting. Integrity in the Star Trek universe truly comes down to the writing and the continuity, that's what matters above all else to me, a Trek show with good actors but bad writing and continuity is what ruins the integrity in my book. But hey that's my opinion, and there's your opinion, were entitled to each respectively.
Petty, ridiculous and just flat out WRONG. Avery Brooks was wonderful! In fact my husband just called me two hours ago from work to tell me he watched a DS9 episode last night and Brooks was brilliant and nobody else could have played Sisko. I agreed with him. Nana Visitor has tremendous acting chops. If anyone was bad on the show it was Dax in the first couple seasons but Terry Farrel grew iinto the role and became great in later seasons. Sometimes Bashir character was bad but mostly when he was putting on over the top voices like in the mirror universe episodes or playing an old man etc...Otherwise he was good. His episodes with Sloan were some of my fave all time Star Trek episodes. You're just a hater and you sound kind of jealous or something. Everyone loves Avery Brooks as Sisko! He was awesome. That just astounds me. You clearly have no taste or ability to judge good/bad acting.
Well if you don't like that acting I can't begin to guess how you feel about any of the post DS9 ST.
High levels of schizophrenia detected.
If he smokes He smokes
Nice compilation from the DVD extras
While a tough call, certainly, I think Kira is my favorite DS9 character, maybe my favorite Star Trek character. The amount of growth she went through, and all of her internal conflicts, made her amazing to watch. Plus, she's absolutely gorgeous. And Nana Visitor is a fantastic actress.
You like the scum of DS9?! That's what I call Kira, not Nana Visitor :)
What a terrible opinion
@@sigiligus Thanks for your thoughtful input.
I agree with every word.
Nana is so freaking hot!! Siddig was one lucky bastard.
This is Chilling, Leave Me in Shock. I Feel His Pain. Good Friday to Easter Sunday, Amen.
This is what real mentoring looks like.
Great writing, great actors. Nana was perfect for her role. They could have brought Sisko back for Season 8 and expanded on the DS9 lore a bit more, but for the most part the story arc for all of the characters and most of the factions involved completed beautifully.
And they said Richard Harris was "too soft" to perform fighting scenes as Dumbledore? Show them this movie!
I think the extended version of Troy borrowed this music track in the practice scene between Achilles and Patroclus. Its the exact same track :O. Is it public domain or something?
"You asked god for help, and I'll stop the moment he shows up." I'll bet atheists love that line.
Well, because it displays the insanity of man made religion. - Signed, an anti theist.
I do it’s funny
It just happens to be Mel Gibson’s Jesus who’s getting whipped in this scene 😂! How’s that for irony?
Perfect
Great movie with very little hype
ahh pirates of the Caribbean music ? lol
But what if those two sticks broke? They were pretty rough and don’t have others
Those doors were probably solid oak
Super film 👍
I loved this movie. Kind of shocked I don't own it. Where else can you see such an amazing story and a young Henry Cavill lol
there’s a window (:
Bro I love this movie.

Richard Harris was great in this brilliant film.

*Wealth of Nations* gotta get my hand on that book, somewhat interesting
The Count of Monte Cristo is not an invention. The man in flesh and blood who inspired Alexandre Dumas for the figure of Edmond Dantès was his father, Thomas Alexandre Davy de la Pailleterie known as "General Dumas", who in 1799 was imprisoned in the Aragonese Castle of Taranto, which in the famous novel became the Castel d'If. Precisely in the Aragonese Castle of Taranto on 10 September 2020 an exhibition curated by Tonio Attino was inaugurated with illustrations by Nico Pillinini, a narrative path that describes the Taranto imprisonment of the Napoleonic officer, transformed into a literary hero by his son. The exhibition is always open: we are waiting for you !! Which Count of Monte Christo movie is this? There are so many, I mainly liked the old Richard Chamberlain version.
2002 said so at the beginning
Same music as achilles and patrocles training in troy
Lazy production lol
This was a gem of a film in a pretty dry year.
