Minister James Shabazz was known as "The Son of Thunder" as a dynamic Minister and speaker. Unfortunately, he was gunned down on September 4, 1973 on his driveway. His son, James ibn Shabazz immediately took over as the Minister at Mosque #25 in Newark. He has since been the Imam at Masjid William Salaam in Norfolk, VA, where famed Psychologist Dr. Na'im Akbar (Luther X) was also the Imam and he's now the Imam at the Martinsville Islamic Center in Martinsville, VA. He was interviewed a year ago regarding the holy month of Ramadan. Check out this interview: ua-cam.com/video/zKa30OZxwKc/v-deo.html

The Son of Thunder was very jealous of Minister Malcolm X. Minister James 3X Shabazz was a hypocrite slashed Judas slashed Brutus slashed Benedict who was murder on September 4, 1973 by his ex followers who now called their selves The New World of Islam.
The Son Of Thunder.
The New World of Islam a disgruntled group that was at one time members of the Son of Thunder Minister James 3X Shabazz , Newark, New Jersey Mosque Number Twenty Five.
Minister James 3X Shabazz McGregor, the regional Minister of Mosque Number Twenty Five in Newark Mosque Number Twenty Five in Newark, New Jersey. And also the Minister of Harlem Mosque Number 7 in New York City, New York.
The serpent of thunder
He from Newark NJ not Harlem
James was a bitchass hater lol!
James didnt even like Malcom
Jay Lew because he was jealous of Minister Malcolm X , because Malcom X was the best thing every happened to the Nation of Islam and Elijah Muhammad and the Son of Thunder Minister James X Shabazz of Newark Mosque Number Twenty Five wasn't. That Minister James X Shabazz was a Benedict Arnold to the Honorable National Supreme Minister Malcolm X.
Yup. He’s the serpent that planed Malcolm's assassination

I met Professor Wilcox in the 1999. He was a good friend and confidant; he was also very intelligent and articulate. He was instrumental in the development and opening of the School of Social Work at Columbia University. I miss my friend.

Tribute to my mentor, a great lady of substance and character! I had the privilege of working for and with her during this time. She trained me to be professional. She poured into me. She was instrumental in forming my character. I thank God for her life. I was with her during this time when we sold $5 shares to open the Harlem Consumers Cooperative Supermarket up on 147th St (?) It was a wonderful time in Harlem! Everyone was a shareholder. We owned something that they were proud of, but the powers that be were threatened by its success and ....it got ugly. The rest is history.
+Gloria J. Arnold Hi Gloria - Yes, I too worked for The Honorable Cora T. Walker. I was a young woman attending Kingsborough Community College at the time. I had to work for an attorney before I could graduate College. I was interviewed by Ms. Walker. She hired me for six month and gave me a satisfactory grade which was what qualified me land a permanent job with the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. What a powerful, smart, determined woman. I was so honored to be able to work with her - even though it was just for six months.
This was an awesome tour!!! Neal Shoemaker did an excellent job by making you feel the time era of Harlem's history. His amazing amount of knowledge and story telling was very informative and very educational. Thanks! Neil I'd do the tour again in a heartbeat. You made me and my family members feel at home and welcomed. Also, please please let Mr. Apollo/Billy know he was awesome as well enjoyed every bit of him and his history on the Apollo Theater! Thanks again. Carla-Oklahoma City.
Thanks to my man Ray form Oklahoma for that fantastic performance of "Cloud Nine" on the stage of the world famous Apollo Theater. Ray is originally from Harlem and Harlem loves him and his wonderful family.
I will always love Harlem even know it's changed a lot.
RIP, Mr.Miles.....
RIP William Miles. Thank you for this great documentary.
I actually judged it by its contents. Did you really miss that? You won't change a bad and hateful book by stating some ridiculous truism. Now go ahead, call me racist or something.
He's a guy who does not know the difference between an A-bomb and an H-bomb. Don't take him too serious.

Mec......C'est comme cela que je t'aime. ....
Sadly that medallion is lost. It was stolen after he died in 1972.
Good one
He was a strong spirit
The opening of this movie does give a tour of the old Harlem I remember growing up in.
What is the medallion he is wearing?
Ricky Martin it was given to be Haile Selassie I, the Lion of the Tribe of the Judah.
That looked more like bumper cars than sledding! LOL Morningside park looks great. That hill is deceitful, thank goodness for the iron gate or you could end up on Morningside Ave. itself. Ahhh....to be a kid! LOL
