Thank you! It is such a perfect piece for the mandolin. I can just picture Mozart writing the opera for Don Giovanni, and he’s like “ok I’ll have Don serenade this women he want’s to seduce outside her window, so what instrument should he use for this clandestine moment, oh yes the mandolin of course!”The mandolin is small and portable and the perfect instrument to serenade someone when you’re hiding in the bushes outside their window. So Mozart writes this beautiful song, and he writes the accompaniment part for the mandolin. It probably took him less than half an hour write everything. The end result is simply one of the greatest pieces of music written for the mandolin. It’s not a virtuoso piece like Calace wrote. It is just this amazing, perfect, beautiful little piece of music that will last for eternity. It’s a wonderful gift to every person who plays the mandolin. This piece along with Vivaldi’s Mandolin Concerto in C is why I got a mandolin and started playing.
