Great, Ketil, as always!😊
thanks for posting! Loved this
Suverent! Har du notene til den?
Tusen takk. Nei, dessverre. Jeg søkte og fant noe notering på nettet som jeg brukte innledningsvis. Men så ble den bare spilt etter hukommelse.
@@ketilliland Bummer, får gjøre det samme da. Holdt på lenge?
Ketil, thank you for posting this, and on a D whistle so I could learn it more easily on my high D! Any chance you can sound out the "2nd part" that Lunasa plays? Since they play on F whistles (and I'm a new player) it's hard for me to figure out. (Huge fan of your uilleann pipe posts on FB by the way.)
Thank you very much! 😊 Unfortunately I have not learned the 2nd part myself. I might try to, but not likely. I try to focus on tunes for sessions or my band Fir Arda. Although I love The Last Pint I dont see it will show up in many sessions (at least not here in Norway) and if it does it will probably not be the arranged (full) version Lunasa play.
What key is this whistle, thank you
It says in the title 😊 It is a C whistle
Haha so it does, I'm Irish and true to the stereotype, I'm drunk, thanks again, best single whistle version I've ever heard. As you know I think the original was 3-4 whistles. Lows Whistles and a high D i Think! God bless brother 👍🏻
Thank you very much for the kind words, although drunktalk 😅
@@ketilliland the best single version comment still stands, drunk or not 😂 look forward to more of your whistling!
❤
🥰🥰💃💃lovely
Beautiful tone! Great to hear you flute around a bit!
Thank you! Just picked up the flute again after more than a year away from it. Getting along better this time around!
@@ketilliland I've been playing since november and it's been such a ride! I just recently found out about the difference in sound that the interior shape of the mouth does for the lower notes, especially. Sound gets 'sharper' the wider the cavity, it seems. I think you do that pretty well and I'm glad I'm starting to notice those subtleties, it just makes these videos that much more special. You're an inspiration, keep it up. My pipes arrive in August, I'll try to play along with some of your videos as well. Cheers!
Great tune!!! This will be the next to learn from your videos. Thanks for sharing your music. Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
Thank you very much for the support 🙏
Nicely done! Thank you for sharing your talents with us. It's been a joy to watch your growth. 🙂
Thank you very much 😊 Comments like this keeps me motivated to always try to improve.
I play this on Highland Pipes. The notes are slightly different but same great melody. It would go nice with another 6/8 Bonnie Dundee
Bravo! Lovely cosmic drainpipe sound.
A wonderful rendition of a great soulful tune. Thanks for adding this to the YT universe. Your passion and lovely playing was inspiring to myself , a professional player of trad Scottish tunes. It added a jaunty lilt to my step today. Gassho
Lovely. I like your drones, really chunky sound.
Wow how come I didn't see this before? Great playing here thanks for sharing
I love your taste for hats. And music of course.

😎😎🎇🎇🎉🎉🎭🎭💞💞💕💕👏👏👏👏
No comment.. !
Ok😊
Fantastic, thanks.
Flott spilt!
Meget bra! Practise set er mer enn nok i starten. Er du på Facebook så kan du søke meg opp på messenger så kan jeg gi deg litt kontakt info
Flott!
Lovely! I really like the sound of your drones and the pipe sounds great! Have you given up on the low whistle?
Thanks! I still play low whistle for sure! 😊
Impressive work mate
Drones sound great along with the chanter. Nice tone n tempo.
I really like how you pace yourself with your tunes mate. Nice. You don’t rush. I tend to do that. I definitely did a while back. Recently picking up the chanter again for another go. You sound great mate. I’ll be watching n learning from ya. Cheers from the North of NJ lol
Nicely done. I like the regulator work there. Neat having just the one to focus on. Adds a nice dimension.
Thank you. I got two regs now, but to be honest I have not yet learned to play them. Too much other stuff to practise! 😅
I had a full set by Marc van Daal but I was useless at the regs. So many layers of complexity. I’m back to a practice set
@@NotAFanAnymore I started on a full set and the regs are so much maintenance in addition to complexity that for my new set I got just the drones. Good to hear about other similar experiences.
Drones sound lovely mate. Nice work there!
well done mate...brilliant
Awesome!
Interesting!! Sounds really good. My old Goldie standard bore Low D is a medium but I can no longer play it because of costochondritis - basically damage to the cartilage holding the ribs and sternum together. I need to minimise stress on the lungs. In my very soft blowing narrow bore, Colin reckons he has created the lowest impact Low D he has ever made. It uses little air but backpressure is minimal too and I can very comfortably play to second octave B but also comfortably get up to third octave E . . . though I won't be doing that very often. I imagine for slow airs with long notes, your whistle will be more air efficient but I probably shouldn't be playing long notes and content myself with dance tunes anyway.
Nice! Out of curiosity, what "strength" of whistle it is on Colin's scale? I have just received a 1.00 very soft blower but it takes very little air.
Thanks! This is a ‘90 strenght. Colin described it as medium and I love it. Perfect backpressure for me and the second octave is a breeze all the way up to high b and beyond (not that I would go higher than the occasional third octave D)
Lovely! Have a great vacation!
Great video, hope to be as good as you are one day. Hope you have a great christmas.
More great playing 👍 I thought, why don’t more people leave a positive comment on these great videos. Then realised I usually forget to put one myself . Keep up the great work, your videos are not only enjoyable, but inspirational as well. 🙏
Thank you! I tend to forget myself when I watch a great video😅
Such a great reel and a really good whistle !
Love it 👍
BeautifulI I look forward to hearing more.🤩👍
All the rats in my house have packed their bags and they are looking for you now 😅 If you know the pied piper story ❤ Lovely piping ❤
Really good
I love what you did there on the first time your played part C. Great playing! Thanks for sharing
Thanks a lot. I want to be honest and I dropped the octave on the first notes of the C part.. I want to say it was on purpose, but no.. I’ll put it in as a variation noe, for sure 😅
Hello from Andel (Britanny) and thanks you for your sublime music.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🎶 🎶 🎶
Im vibing
My dad got me the same whistle when he was visiting my grandma in Wales, I guess it's the same. Ive never actually learnt to play the tin whistle but it's not too different from a keyboard, I quite enjoy playing it, though I wish I had that level TwT
Incredible sound!
