The diff seal mines leaking can i just remove driveshaft and the 3 bolts that hold the seal section to the gearbox, where the 3 bolts going into the gearbox do i need to put sealant around the mating points? Thanks

I bought a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD last year, cheap because it ran rough. I had it inspected by a dealer and one comment was it needed new plugs and plug wires. 174,000 miles on the 6.0L so I assume plugs have been changed more than once but I ask the seller when was the last time he changed plugs (he put about 100,000 miles on it). He said "never"! One center electrode was missing, one side electrode was eroded so far you could measure the gap with a tape measure. I replaced the bad light bulbs also and had a nice truck.

Though you are partially correct. I wish to point out the real adjustment method is located directly under the van just behind the fuel tank. The DIAL adjustment is only ment for NEW brakes horse shoes only along with new Brake discs. Replace both units and the sun dial Adjust is used to corectly space the shoes from the disc. Once that is complete, then you adjust the main main cable under the van behind the tank. Hope you still have this van. They are great machines.
