Can an old dog learn new tricks?

Have you ever heard that it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert at something? Well, I read "The Road to Excellence," edited by K. Ander Ericsson. He's the researcher who made this concept famous. He also says, 10,000 hours of "directed practice," is what's needed.

I'm a life-long student. I started playing piano in December of 2020 when I was 68 years old. My channel goal is to document my progress with frequent videos. In any learning endeavor it is important to measure, and my immature videos give me a yardstick against which I can gauge my progress. While most experts say it is never too late to enjoy learning an instrument, I want to see if an old geezer can really get good.

My goal is to make music that I enjoy. That is blues, jazz, improv, the great American song book, classical, and classic rock. I also enjoy the production aspects of music, like Digital Audio Workstations, equipment, arrangements, and writing.
