It doesn’t get much better than this 🫨
Clarity, shape, power, speed, elan. My favorite performance of this piece.
Rubinstein played Chopin better than any other pianist except perhaps Lipatti.
Mira que cosita click clack click
This piece has such an unique coda, Medtner has the greatest talent to make a legendary end of the piece!
Medtner was one of the greatest musician ever!
I think so too.
Esecuzione STREPITOSA🎉 👏👏👏
An amazing performance. We are fortunate that his live performances have been preserved.
Wonderful, applause ! Merci ❤
Actually, this isn't Sokolov playing; it's Evgeny Kissin performing at the Proms!
I wonder if this performance based on the newly published score from Muse press.
Soo beautiful! Praise God ! ❤
❤❤❤
Some other young pianists play this on their concert after Hamelin, but nobody excutes this natural, flawless rubato. His understanding of musical timing is phenomenal.
a legend
Inmenso Marc-André

Absolutely adore this! Compared to the older recording of Hamelin playing this piece, it's interesting to hear the differences in speed and articulation. In the older recording he tended to insert more pauses and accentuate more places in the song, while this version is a lot more flowy and very legato. Extremely well done!!
What a gift that this was filmed. Nice work on the sound! Rubinstein--late 70's, very much in his prime years. A very long lasting prime--more like an era.
Extraordinaire!
wow
According to Rubinstein's autobiography, he stopped playing this in public and became quite paranoid about the piece as people close to him died when he played it...
“Hay cosas que solo los locos pueden hacer”.
how do u muffle the strings
guy plays like a beast
7:01 〜OMG
Mr. Hamelin, I have no words but:"Thank you and I love you". 💖👍🌷🌷🌷 (Holland-eu) Thank you opus posthumous for sharing this gem.
synthesia when?
Organ transcriptions are also wonderful!
I like how it’s in g major and not in g-flat major:)
Too frantic. No sense of line or phrasing. More noise than music.
years ago there was a higher quality version of this concert posted by vladivostok1969 but it was taken down im hoping in the future it will be posted again
I don't know how I've never seen it - vladivostok1969 seems to have the same version as I do! Not sure if this is what you're referring to, or if there was an even better version that was taken down.
I think it must have been readded, as most of the comments are from 7+ years ago, and I certainly never found it when I was searching for the whole concert 2-3 years ago, yet know it is the top UA-cam result.
i j subbed to your channel ty for posting the full concert
Its incredible to think that this piece was written originaly for one violin 😐
I read the history of the work, the death of Bachs wife. I feel the expression Schiff gots it exactly right both the expression and the piano technique. Perfection.
What was infamous about the Moscow recital in question?
1:25 😍
that's not the correct pitch, it's a little bit sharp
BRAAAAAAAAAAAAVO
Gorgeous! Thank you.
Thanks for this wonderful performance of my Charles Trenet songs.
Barber and McDowell are such wonderful piano composers
it melt my heart...so beautifull
So beautiful!
Barber was a first rate craftsman.
Omg I remember learning this a few years ago! It's cool to hear it now
5:17 lol
((((This is just a movement!))))
