It definitly comes down to the definiton of happiness. I view happiness as more of a sliding scale, on one end you're feeling positive emotions (all under the umbrella term of happy) and on the other end you experience more negative emotions and chaos. Survival situations, or stress situation, tend to force us to close ourselves off from outside perspectives, makes us less open to relationships, and generally makes us selfish. But, when the tension eases, your perspective expands, you tend to include others in your plans, and you generally act in an easier, more pleasant manner. Happy, generally just refers to whatever makes you feel "better". So, contentment is a great word for that concept, as is satisfaction, peace, ease, etc. So, happiness can be a "Kodak moment", I'd call that a moment of pleasure, where as "happy", for me, describes essentially all positive emotions and is the "default" emotion in a way. Something else worth noting too is that chasing contentment and satisfaction (specifically) is likely to lead to a more joy filled life (or a happier life).

@@salsarna8940 That was not my natural path when starting out, but a result of asking myself "how can I live a better life?". I'm inclined to be a lot like Angus, believing only in the things I can see and touch (scientifically proven), and I had some dark times where the beliefs structures handed down by my parents were challenged. So, eventually, I decided that I had to figure out what works for me specifically and it seems like people who are optimistic have a better time in life. So, I started down that path and it's led me here. That's not to say that I don't still struggle, that's part of what makes life interesting, I'm just more capable of handling the struggle and learning from it. Often, that doesn't seem like much to others, as far as life shifting paradigms go, but it's amazing how much more enjoyable life becomes when you feel like you can handle whatever comes you way.

You can follow basically the same principle every year. The difference is just what are your goals for each year 😊 What's your biggest goal for this year? thank you for your feedback, you nailed it! this is exactly what I wanted to point out - if you try to "monetize your passion" aka make it your job - it could take all joy and fun out of that. I still believe it could work but it´s important to understand what EXACTLY you´re passionate about. I made a mistake when I misunderstood that. I just wanted to share this experience with others so they can avoid the same mistake 🙂 And yes, in the background is my own horse. As soon as I realized it´s not my dream to work with horses I worked hard in many other jobs that sucked A LOT to make money for what really IS my dream. It was definitely worth it ❤(and by the way, where I live you don´t need to be super rich to keep a horse 😉 )
