Chicago was transit route and the stock yards. Grandma family settled in Chicago in 1850 with population not being more than small town, they came from Pennsylvania and she never thought moving this was her home.

First census was 1790 and people started moving to North Carolina,then Tennessee, which each new territory opened up people moved big reason was land waiting to be cleared and waiting for farming.

Milwaukee San Francisco Dallas Boston New Orleans Philadelphia Miami Baltimore San Diego Chicago Atlanta Pittsburgh Detroit Those are the true large u.s. major cities according to that world atlas book and you all know what that book is right.Its those only 24 cities the rest are wanna be major cities
