Tracking my lifelong passion for historic track days and racing, mostly in my 3 Alfa Romeo race cars: a 1750 GTAm tribute (1971) in the Alfa Romeo Cup in Japan, a HRDC spec GTV 2.0 (1977) and FIA appendix K Giulia Ti (1964) in the UK, and with the Iberian Historic Endurance Racing Club in Europe.

To be fair the 105 was on CR65s I think whereas my GTV had modern boots. Cool to see my dry vs his wet lines play out over a few laps..

Mid race fun between 2 116 GTVs and a 105 at a very slippery HRDC Classic Alfa Challenge!

No rain at first but the track was like an oil slick. Racing in slow motion!

Best I could do at a greasy Silverstone. Was taking the dry line more or less, and judging from the GTV ahead the wet line may have been a smarter move!

Soaking wet race start for the Gerry Marshall Trophy. Lots of squirming around but no incidents!

Return to Sepang @ Asia Classic Car Challenge

Almost 20 years since my last drive at the fabulous Sepang Circuit I returned to race in the Asia Classic Car Challenge - in a Proton Putra, the car I used to commute to work in 1999! A soaking wet track made for a fun outing on what remains a terrific racetrack. Thanks to Kegani Racing and ACCC for a brilliant weekend.

Sluggish start but got the 105 back, and picked up pace throughout the race. It was tough to figure out the right gear selection with the short shifting I needed to do because of the carb issues.

Nice to be out in the GTV @ HRDC, some carb problems forcing me to short shift but had fun and times were ok.

The immortal, never to be equalled.. Gt Junior. Young designer.. Stroke of genius! Beautiful, Beautiful car!! ❤💪❤
what is the mechanical spec on your car?
Granpas' Pretending at being Sterling Moss. Albeit at Half Speeds.
what you are doing is my dream
this Mass of claudicant """pilots""" . . . 🤣🤣🤣💩💩💩🤡💩💩💩
Of the 308s, I think the Berlinetta has a cleaner shaped body design and looks sportier compared to the Targa body model. IMO.
If it's your one: May I tell you that I'm more than envious about that it's your car but not mine... :D But even if so: Have a lot of fun with your jewel...
...Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe.
Good to see a RHD 116 Giulietta 1.8 in the UK.
The first 1300 in SA that could attain 100 mph...........
Guarda che il 1300 della Giulia arrivava a oltre 160 km orari.
Ottimo. Accettato. Ma è stato il primo 1300 a raggiungere questa velocità in SA.@@massimoarnaboldi3177
watching this from my 2016 alfa romeo giulia super rosso alfa (well, not while driving)... has been a long way for sure
Sure!
Sounds sweet!
Is that a Moggie Minor at the back?!
should let Misha Charoudin drive it (with care to second gear) reasonable rpm, and no taking curves. love Alfettas (head a saloon)
NICE ONE MY SON
Great driving!
Gt 2000 veloce ❤❤❤❤❤
The porsche driver is either not trying very hard or a poor driver, no attempt to hit an apex, just cruising round.
Viva Italia!
Fantastic race, happy to raced against you. L C #67
❤❤❤
Reporting to cops . You stupid cnt
You cant drive you prick
The size of the wiper blades. The throw of the gear leaver - and that responsive induction. All unrecognisable to people under 40
For those of us that wish we had a sports car but don't have the money. Thanks for sharing. Would love to see more.
Fantastic driving. The Porsche clearly has more power and handling but your driving line is so much better. Bloody brilliant!
This is awesome! Would love to see more alfa content in japan. cheers!
I one a GTV cup model . I love this car

Busso's music
Just… Amazing! Gorgeous car! Greetings from Italy, Japanese fellow ✋👍. 🇮🇹❤🇯🇵
ALFA ROMEO,PURE HORSE POWER!!!🤍❤💚
Thanks for posting , hope you and the car are both well.
Man you know the owner’s manual says that you shouldn’t drive over 55 mph with open roof? 😂😂
Peugeot 205 is really good car, but Alfa Romeo 75 3.0 V6 is best.
The Busso sound is mind blowing!
When you hear that roar of the beast, you know it’s Busso! 💪😎
nice try and good driving but maybe car needs some more work since on youtube two different stock panda 100hp cars posted bests of 9.30 and 9.39 respectively with 99hp
Driver needs more preparation. Not the car. Practice makes perfect. I`ve been a few times to the track and know it well. Sub 9 minuets is not in any way a problem with this car.
@@rakerholm yes the driver needs to know the circuit more but the car is also not totally prepared and that soft chassis is moving around too much. The Panda was stock with little if any chassis movement, but just lacking in power, and that chassis rigidity is needed on a circuit full of twists and turns and different cambers and where you make speed.
@@cbca6567 I own 2 GTV6es myself. One being a Grand Prix. Yes a gtv6 is somewhat soft stock. But on the Nürburgring you don't want a too stiff car anyway. A stock 2,5 80's GTV6 would have no problem getting the same time or better, as the Pandas your referring to. The GTV6 is very well balanced in high speed corners. As well as being somewhat neutral with regards of over and understeer.
@@rakerholm I also own an Alfetta and i consider it the best handler bar none of its generation into the 90s on the road, not track without major modifications, but all the chassis of the Alfetta and later 75 were soft from factory and the major weakness; the SZ chassis is very stiff and rides very stiffly also. It is the major defect for track racing, unless you strengthen the pickup suspension mounts like in the SZ or fit dropped spindles (like in the sz) and fit a rollcage. The GTV6 in the video does not set good times and has a lot of mods including 3.5 engine and the rs package which just magnifies the chassis softness because it sends all the force to the chassis in corners, terrible! The driver is pushing but does not know the circuit that well and his times reflect it so a stock car would be worse. The Panda and mostly all cars of this generation have much stiffer chassis and that counts on track for response times.
@@cbca6567 Alfetta, GTV, GTV6 and 75 is not the same thing. I've owned all. As well as a 90 2,5 and a Giulietta and ALL ride way different from each other. Even the GTV6 from the GTV is a huge difference you could feel even in a parking lot. And as a matter of fact; Are you aware that the GTV6 won the Touring Car championship 4 years in a row? There is a reason for that. I have not ridden a GTV6 on the Nürburgring, but I've ridden it plenty on other tracks. And I've ridden about 10 other different cars on the Nürburgring, including Ron Simons private black 75 3,0. Same driver in both cars, the stock GTV6 would set better times than the Panda. I would gladly volunteer to kick some Panda dirt with a stock GTV6 without any hesitation.
So close, nice save.
Nice
forse io sono di parte ma per me come le alfa romeo non ci sono macchine
Non sei di parte! Hai proprio ragione🇮🇹👍👍👍
I'd like to know what's under the bonnet of the Varitone to enable it to stay ahead of the Alfa for as long as it did,
