In the Resurrection F what if, I think Gohan did train after the Buu Saga in that separate timeline. It’s even stated in the Japanese version that he did train in this what if. Plus Gohan was able to go straight to Super Saiyan 2 against Final Form Frieza, where as in the anime series and movies, he struggled to even use regular Super Saiyan, even though he mastered it a long time ago. The reason why he didn’t have Ultimate Form is because he didn’t have his combat instincts. Gohan’s training is the equivalent to lifting in gym rather than a balanced martial arts; Gohan focused too much on one aspect of his training; his physical strength and neglected the other important aspects such the mental aspects it seems. Heck Gohan trained as much as he could in gravity room in the DBS manga to at the very least stay in shape just in case he was needed, but didn’t have his Ultimate Form, but regained it just before the T.O.P. As Piccolo stated he was only able to help Gohan’s regained his sense of battle via instincts before the T.O.P. started.

I think the Gohan Black was WAY better than the anime and manga versions of the Goku Black arc, in my opinion. Not only this made Gohan a more pragmatic character, actively preparing for the worst at the first chance he got rather than taking Beerus’s word at face value about the erasure of Zamasu like the anime, but not only did he learn the Evil Containment Wave, but actually succeeded in using the technique, which was the key factor to victory and actually saving Trunks’s timeline, saving us from another garbage, meaningless ending! This also doesn’t undermine Trunks’s theme; that together, mortals can overcome difficult odds, even if said obstacles are gods, but Zamasu almost merging with the universe, and needing Grand Zeno(the God of Gods) coming in and erasing everything, including Trunks’s home, just takes a dump on all that and made the entire arc pointless!

The constant complaining about the power of defensive mechanics gets tiring. It’s not as bad as you pretend it is. Sonic sway still has to be input as a rush attack lands (even when blocking). My thing is if the defensive options weren’t as strong as they are, then the offensive options in this game would be overbearing and more insufferable. Edit: I know this is a month old but holy moly you are not only bad but painfully misunderstand the game. Bardock is the only character with an instant sparking explosive wave skill for one, two you can only blame yourself for not waiting out Reccoome’s blockable ult, one occasion your DRAGON DASH INTO IT. You complain about defensive mechanics instead of changing up your own fight patterns to open someone up who’s ‘spamming’ perception or super counter or whatever. Stagger your combos, learn combo resets, learn how to open up in various way, keep your opponent guessing, manage ki and skill gauge properly to have advantages yourself. It’s not always the games’ fault Lotus ffs.

The water stance u keep using is for enemies with shields specifically

I don't know if lotus post these personally or not but water stance is for shield and you can switch back to your first stance for swords

Damn, guess it really is just me. I was bored to tears with this game and super disappointed. I love bayonetta and dmc is one of my favorite franchises of all time so when i heard this was made by platinum (ex dmc, bayonetta devs) i was hype af. Played this for 12 hrs and quit from boredom. The combat is shallow and i guess i also didnt get far enough for the story to grip me. This is just one if those games that is hailed as a masterpiece but i just miss out on cuz i dont see it.

2:33:18 now that I think about, I replay games a lot less. But I think a lot of people do that less because 1, we got more options as adults with more money to get other games vs waiting every birthday or Christmas for new games. But also we consume the game a lot more than we used to back then. Now we’re 2-3 UA-cam playthroughs while also watching other streamers and video game breakdown videos hours after beating the game.
