    I've been studying natural weapons for a few years now off and on, and it's amazing what we can do with sticks, natural glue, horn/antlers/bone, animal teeth, rocks, twine, and just time.

    *Animals:* Haha, silly human, you have such weak weapons. *Humans:* That's a nice looking weapon you got there. Mind if we use pieces of you for our weapons?

    Curious, why are marlin bills more suited for functional use than swordfish bills? I thought that pahi kaua were made entirely out of a solid bill?

    • @KoaStudio
      @KoaStudio Місяць тому

      Depends on the specific bill. In my experience swordfish bills just tend to be more brittle once dried out. But traditional Pahoa(wood and bone) were more of a thrusting weapon so either material would work well. Wood was the most common though.

    • @gangrenousgandalf2102
      @gangrenousgandalf2102 29 днів тому

      @KoaStudio Ah, I think I see. Makes sense given the dimensions of the thing, more empty space I suppose. Also, would you recommend any specific place to order ethical shark teeth from? I'm an amateur woodworker but I've mostly been focused on Atlatls and other Spear throwers, and your content has inspired me to branch out :)

    Im always jealous of some of your skills and the acses to the exotic materials you have, Then again we all have to start something and ive been getting better, But this looks really really good, you should as always be proud, also im curious, what sandpaper grit do you usually use?

    • @KoaStudio
      @KoaStudio Місяць тому

      Just time and dedication. I usually start with a 120 or 150 depending. Then move to 220 then 320. Depending on the piece and design I may go more.

    • @KoaStudio
      @KoaStudio Місяць тому
