My Quail Hens Laid Their First Egg!!!
I just started canning last month. I have 3 kinds of baked beans, and some of every kind of bean just to see how we like the various recipes. I am shopping the ads and canning those items that we like. I just put up 10 lbs of potatoes that were $0.87 for a 5 lb bag.
Way to go with the bean varieties! Testing to see which one your family likes best is a great idea. Also, that is a great price on potatoes. What a great sale!
Thanks for the easily understood instructions. Raw pack for meats is my favorite method. My make shift pantry, former coat closet 😊 has chicken, beef, potatoes and various beans. Also have vegetable soup and some canned meals ready to heat and eat. Times are tight and we're about to be squeezed harder. Come together people! It's how we survive.
I am glad you liked the video. It is great you are canning a variety of things already. My make shift pantry is a small bedroom that is starting to fill up. You are right - this is a way to survive.
My parents used to can many things years ago. I would watch them but I have never tried to can food before. Thank you for sharing this information.
It is good you were exposed to the process at a young age. Even if you do not try it yourself, you are aware the process works. That knowledge in itself is empowering. Have a great day!
Such a resourceful, and knowledgeable person.
I am glad you liked the video. Consider subscribing to my channel so you will get new videos when they are posted. Have a great day.
He's got a beautiful coat!

Hope it's tasty :)
It is very tasty and because it is chicken it is healthy too.
This looks like a healthy and delicious meal.
I focus on canning meats as primary, then veggies, beans, etc. Very thorough explanation. Thanks for the video.
Great canning strategy! Glad you found the video helpful. Have a great day!
In May of this year, my refrigerator stopped working. My canned food came in handy.
It’s great to have a backup plan!
I canned butternut squash a few days ago.
I love butternut squash too. Glad you have some in your pantry.
Hi. Right on time video. 😊
Glad the timing was good for you. Thanks for watching.
Excellent wisdom. I have started to read up on how to indoor garden during the winter months here in Minnesota.
That’s a great idea! You’ll get a jump start on your spring garden that way. Happy gardening!
@ Thank you.
Hello, how are you? This is my first time growing mustard greens say collard greens. They are growing so fast. I actually planted mine after my neighbors, but mine has grown so much bigger and I’m thinking I really don’t want to clip them right now, but they need to be clipped and I’m thinking it’s too early so can you give me, some advice the leaves are large, but the stem hasn’t grown up out the ground enough. That’s what I’m thinking.
Hello. I am doing well, thank you. I can't tell you what to do but from what you describe this is what I would do. I would focus on the leaves closest to the soil. I would cut the leaves from the 2 lowest levels which should be enough for dinner and leave the rest of the plant in the ground. It should continue to grow and the stalk will get stronger as it does. This is the cut and come again method. Happy gardening!
Same here, I had so much hope that was crushed by all the haters. I had closed my garden up for winter. On November 6th I went to the garden and started prepping for a winter garden. I am with you.
We are in this together. Peace and love to you and yours.
Excellent advice! You have to be so careful even when it comes to family.
Yes. Family can be a difficult situation to deal with. We have to be aware who in our family is really for us. Have a great day!

Thank you Ms. B. and well said. Peace and blessings to you and yours ☮️💖
You are most welcome. May peace and blessings be with you as well.
This was a good one. Many cultures have 1 house at a time for stability and sustainability.
Glad you liked the video. I agree. It is important to think about how to be as self-sufficient as possible.
I can appreciate your taking a rest from gardening.I live in zone 7b which has a longer growing season than your zone. The Lord has blessed me with gardening, it is very good for my health. When I was younger I could ride a bicycle twenty miles a day,and I ride a stationary bike now for miles a day, gardening is the best exercise I have ever enjoyed. I thank the Lord for the sunshine and all the health benefits, not to mention the food that the Lord has provided.I believe gardening is very good for our health, and I believe many people who are on medication for blood pressure, diabetes, and so many other illnesses would do better if they would enjoy the blessing of gardening.I enjoy your videos and they are very helpful.
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and experiences. I am glad you enjoy the videos. More videos to come soon.
OMG this looks super creamy like sweet potato or pumpkin pie. It has to be good.
You are right, it is delicious! Glad I have another cushaw so I can make more!
This looked so good great job
Thank you so much! Glad you liked the video. Have a greatr day!
Thank you for sharing this information. I have not had any pie or cake in a couple of years.I would like to make a pie. I could probably use sweet potatoes, maybe I could grow cushaw squash in the future. Thank you again.
I am so glad you are considering making a pie. Sweet potato pie is the next best thing in my opinion. Any pie is better than no pie : )
I haven't eaten any red meat in over twenty years.I do eat poultry. You roast looked delicious, and this recipe may work well with a whole chicken also.Thank you for allowing us to see your delicious roast.
Yes it does work with chicken too! Glad you liked the video. I will be sharing more food prep videos soon. Take care.
Fantastic! Great job They look amazing ❤
Thank you! Have a wondeful day :-)
Thanks for your video. I just wanted to say I eat a lot of sandwiches. I love the chard leaves as a difference maker to lettuces. I trim the ridges out to put into stews or soup or anything multi vegetable. Thanks again. 👍 PS Salads
Glad you liked the video. I like Swiss chard on sandwiches too. Have a great day!
Your advice to wear gloves when digging in the soil is spot on. It makes me cringe whenever I see people just dig in the soil with bare hands and I know that many of them do it because they either don’t have gloves handy or perhaps they want to appear hard-core or as someone who is all into nature. Considering the amount of bacteria/pathogens in soil, no reason is good enough for not wearing gloves.
Thank you for your input. I feel it is better to be safe than sorry. Have a great day!
Nice Harvest And Good Tip's Thanks.
Thanks for watching. Stop back again soon.

Years ago I use to grow some winter squash that were over 35 pounds. As the squash produces runners if the vines become damaged covering the damaged area with moist soil will correct the damage.Thank you for another important video.
Great tip!
New subscriber; great harvest!

I have been growing swiss chard for a number of years.I only add a little olive oil to cook it covered less than five minutes.I never add any water when I cook any kind of green.Swiss chard is also healthy and delicious when eaten raw. Thank you for another nice video.
Glad you have had success growing swiss chard. I will have to try cooking it your way, It sounds delicious!

I have never grown rhubarb before, years ago I did have rhubarb pie thank you for explaining how to grow this plant.
You are welcome! Have a great day :-)
Noticed the feeding roots and whiths potatoes were casting out their potatoes. You could plant twice the amount in beds without harming the growth size or spread. Glad i watch. Thanks
Glad you liked the video. Have a nice day.
I’ve just prescribed to your channel could you let me know which size pot you are using for the tiny Tim ? Thank you 😊
Welcome! Thank you for stopping by and subscribing to my channel. To answer your question, I planted the Tiny Tim tomato seeds in a 5 gallon smart pot. It is a determinant tomato so it does not have long vines. However, I do give the stalks some support with bamboo stakes. Happy gardening!
Their so beautiful ,i love the way they sound when harvesting idk how but years ago i ended up with one collard gteen in my garden..that thing got so big!! I not knkwing much about collards back then i wondered why it grew like that.ibe taken collards a little more serious this year and i hope mine get as big as yours!❤
You can grow a large one too. Best wishes.
Thank you!

Hello! I was scrolling and noticed your lettuce set up. That’s brilliant 👏🏿 I’ve never thought of doing that
Glad you like the set up. It is easy to do. Consider growing your own groceries. Wish you the best!
@@henrib723 I do! 😊 I have a market garden that helps feed my small community and a backyard garden for my family.
What size are those pellets and where can I get them from? Been looking for those big pellets.
Glad you liked the video! The pellets I have are 3/4" thick. They come in regular and and XXL size. They can be purchased in various size packages at different big box stores.Type in "Jiffy pellets" in a Google search and they will show up. Have a great day!
Your plants are very beautiful! Where did you get your 5" orange pots and tray? I said the exact same thing about growing my own lettuce. I've only started tomatoes, peppers and lettuce for now.
Glad you like them. I got the pots and trays from Bootstrap Farmer.
Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure!
Nice video.
