I think Kurt’s version is the best as Elphaba because it’s not traditional in any real sense. Mercedes is great in her style with soul and Rachel, much as I hate to say it is objectively good but ultimately basic but Kurt, it’s such a human rendition. It embraces his insecurity and weakness and it so beautiful because it pretty much says “fuck it, I’m showing how good I am whether I win or not”
