BEST KNOT FOR SWINGING CHAIR - No squeak and stays in place!
I tried 15 or more different ways to tie up my Serena & Lilly hanging rattan chair chair and landed on this as the best solution. Many of the basic knots would squeak and the chairs would twist. This solution uses a basic metal loop on a hinge, the rope tucks under itself leaving a nice clean look thats easily adjustable.
My kids can swing around and there is no noise and the chair always returns to its original position!

Fast lap of the weekend (usually I am the slow guy!) Couple seconds faster probably possible with no traffic and fresh tires.

God damn, you quick
Just ran the Ridge today on a motorcycle. Not even close to this time. Best was 2:12. Btw, you have a rev matcher on the GT4? Your downshifts are incredible.
Thanks - yes auto match rev on this car wish I could take credit for those - were you running the chicane? I thought this was common with bikes and would definitely delay lap times
No we didn’t run the chicane. I’m new to track riding though so my times are very novice. Not sure what the pros would do around that track on a bike. Sweet driving man!
Lovely stuff in that it was fast, direct and smooth - staying in higher gear for as long as possible, using all the track, I’m about half a second slower in my 4cylinder car
Great lap. Are you really running rear sway bar disconnected ? What are your spring rates ?
Nice lap
What kind of race is this? There are some gnarly looking cars in this group
Tire suggestions??? PIR?
Ru going the 21st??
Sadly no
@@philh6576 hope to meet up and see you run sometime bud…
A modified Cayman GT4 with 100 treadwear tires does a 1 minute 58 second lap. Here is a old Volvo wagon at the end of 7 continuous hours of racing on worn 200 treadwear tires, in traffic, doing a two minute 12 second lap on the same track layout but without being allowed to cross the blend line.
Wow - cars go much slower (~20mph) on the straights but brake MUCH deeper with more corner speed than motorcycles doing about the same lap time.
Well done! So fast.
Amazing
Great lap as always. Do you know how SC3R does here? I'm going in May. I'm guessing R7s are a bit faster.
Thanks! I don't think you will notice any difference than Ridge. This was my first and only set of R7s but I didn't really notice huge difference actually from SC3R.
Hey Phil, I noticed on your website that you using 245 3R for the front instead of 265, may I ask why? Many thanks!
265/35 throws off factory rake since its taller, traction control had issues for me, and tires end up being fairly pinched. With MCS and springs I don't have any understeer issues. Actually I have rear bar disconnected and full stiff up front, I find I get the most traction that way.
@@philh6576 oh btw did you get your front fender rolled to fit 245/19 in?
@@shengshi3128 no - I have camber plates and other bits though. I remember on my 981 before I had camber plates I had some fit issues and needed to roll.
Wow that’s quick
Incredible. 1.3g through pretty much every corner, and up to 1.7g in the cambered/sloping corners. And the lap result shows for it! This is a fantastic demonstration of on-the-limit motoring.
Thanks!
Nice, it seems like good smooth driving!
Damn that is flying for an M6 GT4, which tires were you on?
Thanks! Supercar 3r
Are you running 19 inch 9''/10.5'' wheel for this car?
Here's details on car setup lapmeta.com/en/vi/3
@@philh6576 thanks I can see tires setup, but I wonder the size of rims tbh. May you advise?
@@shengshi3128 19 inch 9"/11"
Hey guys the car seems to work very well … nice sound and more power ? Except the dundon headers is she stock ? What is MCA ?
Yep only Dundon headers. MCS = Motional Control Suspension, 2 way adjustable coilovers
I can’t believe how realistic video games are now
Nice lap! Stock car?
Here's details on car setup: lapmeta.com/en/vi/3
Good
this is fun to watch
Nice. You run good on the 3 tracks- Ridge ORP PIR Nice job!
Thanks!
That’s a nice lap!
Thanks!
Nice driving, sub 50’s before or after pavement is impressive. I have a 21 PDK, MCS and Dundon headers........ did you ever track car prior to those mods ?
Thanks! Yes I did track the car before MCS / Headers ... the MCS just makes it a bit easier to drive quickly without as much drama. Headers are fun definitely some more power. Things should get quicker once I can get more grip in the rear.
@@philh6576 I autox also and found rear and issue with power down. 3R’s are about the best tire when at Temperature unless you go all in with a slick. Did you stay on 20’s or go to 19’s? I’m trying a 265/305 19 set up. We really are limited to rim sizes and tires on the 4.
@@waylongoebel I am on 19's ... would be interested to see how well 265/305 fits I am at 245/285 on the sc3r... I did 265/295 on re71r and that fit pretty good. Waiting for new Apex wheels to come in they at 11 in back vs. 10.5 I have now then may try 305. Hey you should upload your car and some laps to lapmeta.com ... new site I am working on let me know what you think!
@@philh6576 RE’s are good for 60 second runs. They not good for track at all. The new Falken 660 has been good so far. They make our sizes. I was going to do Apex but I was really concerned about the front fitment. It’s gonna be close. I’m only at -2.5 up front. Make sure you are -3+ especially with a 265 tire. I will check out that website. I will be up there ( Ridge ) 3rd weekend of May. Cheers!
@@waylongoebel thanks for info - yeah I am at 3.8 up front
Nice driving & time! May I ask what camera/mic you are using?
Thanks! Aim Solo 2 and SmartyCam 2.1
1:44 is absolutely mind blowing. I managed a 1:48 in my 2018 GT3 so far, it's amazing how much speed you continue to carry through some of these turns, particularly through turn 10 and the 2,3,4 complex. I'm taking notes
Nice driving. That's me you're chasing!
Thanks! I really like your car and driving as well, I wonder if you would like to post some of your laps to LapMeta.com ...new thing I am working on still in beta.
@@philh6576 yea definitely. I don't have any telem yet, though. Just picked up an AIM DL and still need to order a harness for it.
Nice lines!
Nice illustration of how much we tend to rely on technology.
Do you stock setting 245/295 a lot more understeer? Do you like the RE71 more than Michelin?

What's your tire size and what brake pads do you use? Really want to meet you at the track one time.
19/265/35 and 19/285/35 ... moving to these sizes made a huge difference in performance on GT4
Brakes are Ferodo DS1.11

I was there that day too. I was the old fart in the beginner then low intermediate group in the silver 911. The sun was difficult in the late afternoon on the straight. Say what track app and hardware are you using to record your data? Hope to talk with you next time.
Hi Ward - I am using an Aim Solo 2 and a SmartyCam setup. Video quality is not as good as gopro but it does all the overlay stuff automatically so that's really nice. See you next time!
Yikes
This guy actually ended up wrecking the next day instagram.com/p/BsCwl4KAlzB/?hl=en
@@philh6576I had a feeling this was the same guy... Heard a lot of complaints about him on Sunday prior to him demolishing his car.
@@anthonylineberry He must have had traction control off and been giving some pretty erratic inputs to make it behave so badly on track. That car should drive itself otherwise. Nice car BTW, see ya next time!
@@philh6576 I'm pretty sure he had ESC and TC on, otherwise he would have crashed on Saturday on the outlap in the first session. These cars are fast and can save you from yourselves in many cases, but it can't fix terrible driving and they don't drive themselves. Why this guy thought he should be in 'advanced' is beyond me.
Track Day Fun because $$, fast car. SpeedSF advanced group is faster than most-if-not-all other advanced groups also.
Amazing how you can take the corners with one hand and do sub 1:40's - LOL. I'm assuming you don't have LWB seats?
I have recaro pole positions and 6 point harness - the grabbing the center console thing is just a weird habit I have. Need to work on that!
@@philh6576 I dunno why, but that made me laugh. Didn't even notice that the first time watching, haha. Nice driving!
I noticed you're holding on to the center console to fight the G-forces instead of holding on to the steering wheel. Is that a self-taught technique?
Ha that's just a stupid thing I do - I didn't even realize I was doing it until I started taking vids of myself
@@philh6576 Okay. I'd worry a bit about not having both hands on the wheel when you might need them :| "Oh shit!" moments and all that :P
