I am having terrible issues with mine
Yes, however it should have more spring tension than that. Mine was similar and I replaced it. The new tensioner had much more tension in that spring
Hi. I would like to know where you purchased ? Gs11 and kz11, do they use similar gaskets?
No the gaskets aren’t similar.

Can you re adjust the tensioner still on the bike?
Move the engine to TDC and remove the auto tensioner, you can then re-install the auto tensioner.
@@GalDemSuga I see, so you cannot re adjust the auto tensioner while it's still installed. I have a 83 gs550 I tried re tightening the lock screw and nut while turning the knurled knob anti clockwise, it fixed it temporarily but the problem came back at the end of the ride. I think my auto tensioner is broken but I'll remove it and clean it before I buy another

It's great to see someone working on the same bike I have. I've got 135KI miles and I love riding it. I'm doing some clean up on neglected items on my 82 Suzuki GS1100G. I have the WIndjammer fairing and 4 into 1 exhaust.
Hey William Sounds like you have a GK Model with the Windjammer. I have completed her and ride her every chance I get.
