I'm not sure if you guys no this, but there was an ambush mechanic introduced in the Spider-man 2018 mission. (I'm not sure if it was the OG PS4 version or the Remastered PS5 version), but there was a small chance that Kingpin would send one "hitman" after you that would appear as an NPC, and then attack you. It was so cool the first time it happened, but it only happened twice towards the beginning of the game for me. It also only happens on certain difficulties. (I think the harder ones.)

Someone at Insomniac needs to watch this video. I loved Spider-Man 2, but the open world always felt off and i never knew why until this video. It's the crimes. If everything here was added, i think the open world would be so much better. Also, i think they should add random villain break outs. Not large villains, but more C-B tier ones. Sometimes, villains just break out- not for any giant plot, but because they want to be free and you as Spider-Man could have a mini boss fight with them. Insomniac makes great boss fights, so I'd love to be able to constantly do some in the open world.

another good hunter-related crime would be that while you’re swinging around the city, you’d suddenly encounter one of their blinds. The game made it clear that they can hide in plain sight with their camouflage/invisibility technology, so just imagine running into one of their hidden spots out of the blue while exploring. It would add a great element of surprise to the crime and keep you on your toes

Honestly sense he’s Spider-Man I don’t mind him just helping out, like stopping a fire or helping a kid get bullied or even helping cleaning up a beach or something lol. Like he can just help the citizens without always fighting bad guys

Also it would make it more immersive if they had more variety in enemy npc models, instead of using the same copy and paste bad guys

id love if they added back previous gadgets from SM1 post NG+ since they were really fum to use

I think something that'd be cool would be like, random supervillain attacks? Nothing like some of the more popular villains, but maybe villains like Swarm or *_Big Wheel_* , with Swarm maybe having you chasing down a bunch of bees, finding him, doing a bit of fighting while avoiding being stung, and for *_Big Wheel_* it'd be like the car chases, just the car is a lot bigger and more destructive.

I think every Open world game should do what rdr2 did and include an absolutely mind boggling amount of random encounters. Not crimes or accidents that show up as a way point but truly random events that happen just because you were there. I have never been bored riding around in rdr2 because the game has so many random encounters that i know there will be something to do. I think if Spiderman 2 had something pike that it would make the the game 10x more enjoyable.

I also want bigger villains used as short story side missions and our choices made as spiderman should have more impact on the city/people/villains like for example you failed to stop shocker or someother character maybe something new and they grt away or theres a 5-10 step process to stop there oppression it would make it feel like the badguys are really in thr city with a plan they dont have to takeover new york or destroy it i want it to make sense they want money or someother evil badguy plan I want the police/people to either get frustrated with spiderman or praise him for good superhero work or bad and all the bad guys should be affected by this as well

It's always interesting how people who have created nothing themselves are always eager to tell those who have, why despite their previous success they cannot do so again. That they, based on their total lack of experience see the problems and pitfalls of the material that the actual writers such as Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman have not .

Are we the only one that played the game the old Spider-Man two because I played it and I still play it on the Xbox makes zero sense why it’s on the Xbox on it should be on the PlayStation I don’t know why

I let my friend who's a complete novice to story games (Other than RDR2) try out the game and as soon as he picked up the controller and played around, he said new york felt dead. At first i was annoyed, since the game had just come out i got a bit defensive, but after playing for longer than a month i realized, he was completely right. Swinging around new york feels like your swinging around a lifeless husk instead of a vibrant and bustling city. Sure your not supposed to be walking around new york anyway...but i wouldve liked it had insomniac spent a little more time fleshing out new york and giving it some life

i really wish this game was actually good

honestly i am kinda disappointed about how short this game is. cuz i was fine with miles's game cuz it was more of a side game. but this game was WAY shorter then the first. which mind boggles me. idk why this game was so short. not a lot of features added, story is short and not a lot of side missions. hell even getting venom didn't last long. u get it at like near end game. then lose it as soon as u get it. i used miles cuz he was just more fun with better match ups for enemies then peter was. cuz he didn't have the suit. everything just felt rushed. and i played through EVERYTHING as soon as i could. never skipped cutscenes and didn't look at any guides. but in 3 days i beat it. what a waste of 70 quid

Idk if anyone else has experienced this, but after act 2, it really feels like the only crimes I get are either symbiotes, flame cult, and hunters. It makes me sad cause I don’t see any thugs anymore. Really kills the whole friendly neighborhood Spider-Man feeling for me

Personally, the "Don't Be Scared" Mission was the best mission in the game, and the fact that is the only mission you get to play as venom sucks. Like, how cool would it be to play through these new missions not as Spider-Man, but as Venom!? New dialogue, new villains, new everything. Also, I think that some villains stories shouldn't have been concluded so quickly, like what if you were just swinging between side missions and the Lizard jumps out and attacks you, and you get these interactions said amount of times until the character is cured in the story. Same goes for Kraven, like he's always hunting you, and every corner might be met with his Helicopter or His goons ambushing you, or hear me out: Carnage. That's your gateway, have Carnage be a Jump-mission that carches you off-guard and you have to defeat infected civilians & criminals until a good amount have been defeated, let's say 25 or so in total, until Carnage leaves you an ominous note and you engage in a 1v1 combat at a certain location and, depending on how far you are to 100%-ing the game, the battle will be harder the further completed the game is. This battle is a reoccuring boss, and will reset on either defeat or victory. But, it's designed to beat you, until you reach 100% and the Final boss takes you on. With his defeat, the attacks will cease, and Carnage will crawl back into the shadows, but also leaving behind something for the player to use: The new symbiote type. With the Carnage moveset, Your attack will be unique, vicious, and downright evil. This is the Strongest suit in the game, and will even change Peter's dialogue if used in NG+. Going back to the Venom idea that you can free-roam as Venom, Carnage would be similar, but for both, you can *attack civilians.* YUP, FULL BAD GUY MOMENTS, EMBRACE THE DARKNESS LETS GOO. YOU KNOW THAT ONE NPC THAT ALWAYS BASHES ON SPIDERMAN FOR NO REASON!? TOSS HIM INTO THE LAKE, THROW HIM OFF A BUILDING, SLAM HIM INTO THE GROUND AT MAX VELOCITY, BITE HIM IN HALF!!!! ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE, *EVEN VIOLENCE.* (only end-game, sandbox, and NG+ and is not canonical.)

I agree about everything except for the forced activities like being ambushed by hunters or anything that'll stop you from swinging anywhere. Sometimes, I just avoid crimes and just wanna swing and chill.

i dont think adding more crimes is the solution, because it only adds a couple extra hours of playtime. I would think bigger and add mechanics like gta v has (earning money, buying stuff), or like the infinite powering up from rogelikes, and more dynamic missions that are always random and new. Also more depth in the combat and swinging which makes it harder but more rewarding.

I would love to see some smaller scale villains broke out of prison and had their own little mini boss fights or something. A villain breaking out is like a peak superhero event and it hasn't happened outside of the story. I know it might not make too much sense narratively, but neither do the infinitely respawning hoards of all the factions. It would just be another thing that people would love to see

well whatabout one of those big villains from spider-man is like robbing a bank or attacking civillians and you gotta do a boss fight to stop him

Some ideas I would like to see in the 3rd installment 1. A villain spiderman has put away in jail escapes and you have to track them down and defeat them or they are robbing a bank like in ultimate spiderman, but since shocker is gone you could even add a low level villain like trapster, and just to add to the mechanics of that fight since trapsters power is just super sticky glue lmao you have to stun him with webs a lot more so theres minimal property damage and if there is a alot of property damage, apart from hearing J Jonah Jamieson complain in his podcast i'm not sure what consequence you could have for it. Overall just more boss fights in the city where its not confined to a room 2. A prison break like from the first game would be great where you have to fight a bunch of inmates. It could be Rykers or another prison 3. Not a crime but lets say you dont help with a crime and skip passed, you can have some pedestrians and civilians boo spiderman either while he's swinging low or hes on the ground
