I absolutely love it when I can walk down to the beach and not see a soul. Honestly, most people don't walk down to the beach after summertime because it can be quite chilly and windy in the other seasons. Every time is memorable when it's nothing but me and the ocean and the waves and the birds and the sand and the sea creatures. It's one reason why I film, so maybe a few other people can experience it too albeit vicariously.

We've already had a couple of frosty mornings here.

Some yuccas can grow tall and look like palm trees yet survive a Maryland winter. That's my recommendation for tropical year-round landscaping on the Maryland Coast.

@@DanielKestersCoast Well, you know a lot about all this nature stuff. Maybe palm trees aren't that expensive anymore; I'm not sure Palm trees in Ocean City make or break me liking a business, since it seems a little artificial. I know someone told me the palm trees in Los Angeles had to be placed there, because they don't grow naturally in Hollywood.

You know, I don't even know if I like palm trees in Ocean City! Maybe I'm grouchy. For real, Ocean City, Md is the Putt-Putt, Minature Golf Capital of the World, secret recipe fries that are really secret, 25cent Skeeball. We got enough naturally going on to add something artificial. We even got Daniel Kester broadcasting in the winter when we think it's foolish going.

No. They die every winter. They need to be replaced every spring just like petunias.

Look at it this way, at least the palm trees get to live six months in Maryland as compared to the Christmas trees that get cut every year that are already dead when they are bought.

Back in the day we didn't have Thrashers open year round.

@@sandkid69 It seems to me the summer keeps continuing into September & October in recent years. I thought as a kid almost after Labor Day I felt a chill in the air. Now, it's never ending summer. I hope those looking for reduced lodging might consider going down in autumn

I first went there when I was 14 years old and thought it was really cool with the Palomar Observatory 200 inch telescope mirror that ultimately had to only be used for educational purposes. It's still on display in the museum.

Thanks man. I was definitely fortunate to be able to get to the dune line right before sunrise. It was a fitting end to my vacation week.

No turbines to be seen. Actually construction hasn't started but I really don't think they're going to be easy to see on most days if they are built 10 miles out to sea.

@@sandkid69 I don't remember temperatures this warm when we were kids. 81 degrees here in New York on Halloween, and 73 this Wednesday and Thursday. Maybe we cut our Ocean City, MD 'parameters: time to vacation on the Shore' too short, only Memorial Day to Labor Day
