Thanks for posting this video. I was privileged to have Dr. Purkey as a professor in graduate school at UNCG in the 1990s. He was as inspirational, caring, and energizing during every class session as he is in this video. I only wish someone had the video of his "Wizard of Oz" speech. That's a classic!

I know this video is old, but it's not because it just got stuck.. the plastic air dam under the car scooped up a ton of snow when he backed up... I know this because I just destroyed mine when i got stuck in some snow and had a truck pull me out backwards. Only go forward in snow in S4's, I learned the hard way.

it's simple....there is not enough ground clearance.... plus the snow looks settled..in fresh snow you could have reversed out.. my friend has gotten out of deeper (but fresh) snow before.

AWD needs ride height to go with it lol. But nice vid I love these cars!

lowered in snow winter not a good plan lowering is for summer you may of had a better chance if you net it warm up and gave it more gas you tried to roll out nice car though

i have 1999 a4 2.7L.......... I live in wpg,manitoba(canada)in the country side and i drove mine in way more snow(still do today temp -29 by the way)never got stock.....mine hase no TC bec'z its florida car......still a quattro best AWD ever

You mean turn off the ESP. TC is only made to help at this kind of situation. And easier to clear the snow and use proper tires. Everything else is useless, lol.

wow ok... my a4 "lowered" ha could go through much worse snow... i go up snowboarding all the time and the a4 never got stuck on the mountain where it snows a lot more than that

I didn't know S4's were even made back in '01 ... But Mother Nature won ;). I would invest in a snowblower if I were you.

you must use the all wheel drive system so it warms up and then you could pass every obstacle,but going forward not backwards.A Quattro would easily pass that snow.

He could have mud boggers on that car and he wouldn't go anywhere. Its a clearence issue. You can only push so much snow.

Car probably got stuck on purpose to pay you back for not letting it warm up first. ;-)
