OK. So what’s the deal with all of these people building these raised foundation houses all over the place in and around Asheville? There’s even clumps of them that look like homes you’d see at a beach that’s prone to flooding. And then there’s all of these new builds without garages - seriously?!? I just don’t get it!

What an absolutely, positively STUNNING time capsule of a home. I’ve always been a fan of true, authentic Victorian era homes. The Montford neighborhood in nearby Asheville is packed full of Victoria homes, but sadly many have been stripped of their elaborate decor, designs and details. Glad to see this one has so much of its originality.

Like the land, but not overly fond of the whole wood on wood on wood on wood on wood design aesthetic - even though that’s an easy enough fix. Was that door into the kitchen the videographer used the actual front door of the home?? If so then it’s a definite no. I don’t want nor do I want my guests entering through my kitchen.

I like the design overall, and I’m really liking some of these homes I’ve seen with black or other dark shade on the exterior. *HOWEVER* - I’m definitely NOT a fan of walking through the front door of a home directly into the kitchen! I’m guessing since that’s where this tour started that that’s where the front door’s located. Nope. Not diggin’ it.
