Thanks for the note. Our kids surprisingly loved it overall. Our son 10y enjoyed all the hikes, hot springs and glacier lagoon boat ride. Our daughter 7y wasn’t a fan of any of the hikes but absolutely loved horse riding, trips to the forest lagoon and blue lagoon, loved seeing the animals along the drive (sheep, horses etc). We had a mix of alternating hotels and airbnbs to allow access to breakfast buffet and having a kitchen on some days. Overall the following were the best stays of all (in order): K16 apartments in Akureyri, Hotel Vik in Vik, Armuli cottage in Varmahalid (was recommended to us by an icelandic coworker) and Birkifell cabin near Hofn (airbnb). All other stay were not bad either but were overall average. Please feel free to reach out if I can help with anything else. Have a good planning!
