    Thanks for adding the info about how to do this on a table loom! I can't wait to try this. I'm a former RH weaver and moved to a 4 shaft Kyra table loom over the summer. The only thing I miss is the ease of using pickup sticks to make pictures in my warp. I'm excited to get your book in the mail soon! And thanks for the follow on IG.

    This is a great demonstration to go with the book! In the beginning of the video you mention that a sinking shed loom is also possible. I am going to tie up a loom in school and wondering if i should use a rising or sinking shed. I thought in the book it was specifically mentioned for rising shed looms and dobby’s. Or did i misinterprete the text? (I’m Dutch, sorry!)

    Brilliant and Beautiful!! I've been playing around with the idea of long-eyed heddles to get the feel for drawloom weaving. I've purchased two books on the subject and was just about to switch out my regular eyed heddles. Your technique let's me use my four harness CB loom as it is. Yay and thank you with chips and a soda included! On my way to purchase your book!

    This is so cool! I just love how this technique really opens up for endless possibilities when it comes to free pattern weaving on a harness loom! Can I ask you how you determine the warp set with this technique? I would imagine that it in general requires a closer set because of the splitting of the shed, to get a clearer pattern..?:)

    • @deborah_silver_weaver
      @deborah_silver_weaver 3 роки тому

      Generally, you use the same sett you would normally use for a particular structure. It's true that a closer sett can give more detail, but it can also may it harder to view the cartoon underneath. I often use a finer warp than normal. It also helps to beat the weft in well for more detail (more ppi). It really is a very freeing technique. I love being able to create freeform weavings in lots of structures with continuous wefts.

    Is your warp set up as straight draw?

    • @deborah_silver_weaver
      @deborah_silver_weaver 3 роки тому

      No, the threading order is 432341. But there are many weave structure combinations that can be done with just a straight draw.
