I live more than 10 years in Germany, but i visit Poland regularly. The prices are sick! I visit Gdansk and prices are higher than in Frankfurt am Main! and the quality is much worse! lets take a coffee - the price will be at the same level although - here in Germany restaurant is clean, toilets are clean, service is more than friendly and once again, it is clean ! Kebabs in Poland is unbelievable bad, most of the restaurant i visited were just very dirty, in one i had to open toilet with my foot that disgusting it was! it is pure greediness!! Quality of polish products is bad, place they sell it even worse, attitude towards customer is still like while communist and you can feel you are getting ripped off!! But it was always like this in this country thats why im out of there... this mentality. I remmeber 1997 the big flood and people were selling bread for 10 dollars and more ( normal price at that time was 50 cents for a bread), and they were selling for 10 dollars to their neighbors who were stuck because of big water... Poles have only one plan to make their business generate more money - it is not better business model, it is not LEAN methods, it is not about implementation of savings - straight the price goes up, thats it. So you buy coffee with Milano price and you cant even enjoy the smell of it cause the smell from the toilets kills the pleasure.
