The Rustic Handyman
United States
Приєднався 14 жов 2021
As a homeowner for over 30 years, I became a handyman by necessity to save money. However, I’ve found I really enjoy fixing things. I’ve started sharing my projects here on UA-cam for people who maybe don’t have as much experience repairing things around their property. From vehicle maintenance to home repairs, there's not much I won't tackle. I hope these videos help you with your handyman projects.
Fixing Berne Apparel Bib Overalls With My New Yeswelder Mig Welder
Fixing my Berne Apparel bib overalls with my new mig welder. They shouldn't have changed the way they make these suspender clips. It's only a matter of time before you will have this problem. The little connector piece ends up coming off and you can no longer keep your pants up!

how did both of my flex pipe start leaking at the exact same time on my 99 sienna after leaving the muffler shop to replace a tie rod end? So, I can just get the right length and diameter flex pipe from amazon and just cut the old ones out and muffler clamp the new ones in place and that will do it??? They want to charge me 300+ for labor and parts to replace something I think they sabotaged when I was not looking and heard the leak as soon as I left it after the linkage repair. where and how does the flex pipe leak? It should not be a straight out hole of air blowing out. that would mean they punched a hole in it to make it leak. . but both starting to leak at the exact same time is highly suspicious to me. thanks. That was really great. did not know I could do all of that myself and get it all on amazon probably. but it was showing different sizes and lengths of the pipe. 20 years ago or maybe 10 would have been not much of a problem for any works but at 68 and all of my back and joint pains and problems makes if painful and difficult to crawl around on the concrete. I'll just have to take extra oxy's for my back pain. Thanks so much for a detailed video. It will still help with my 99. I have just have to put the front end up on the ramps instead of jack stands too I thought it would have to be welded in place. duh. thanks again.
Great video. Thanks for for the torque spec
A crooked door is better than a leak. That is exactly what happened to me as it leaked through to the first floor and I had to open up my ceiling and part of the drywall was damaged by the water and the plywood sheathing had a hole in it from rot so I had to support that because I was not going to pull out the whole thing! So when I say a crooked door is better than a gap please please listen to me and save yourself some trouble!
Trump is a king above all men we kneel
Thanks for the video. You did a great job explaining how to take apart and put everything back together. I'm guessing you saved me at least $100. I did run into a new problem once I repaired the gear. The only way I can close the door now is by using the wall mounted switch and holding it the entire time the door closes. Opens just fine. I'm assuming this was triggered by something I did when repairing the opener. The door sensors seem to be totally fine. Any insights on that?
@@karldiehl2064 there might be a knob that adjusts how much force the motor applies to close the door. If it’s set to light, it might not want to close. You might have also wiggled a wire that runs to one of your sensors and maybe now have a bad connection where the wires go into the opener.
@@therustichandyman Thanks for the additional info! Looks like I have a weekend project coming up.
I found the parts manual for that age group of tillers... I inherited my grandfathers from 1972. Still works like a champ. manuals.mtdproducts.com/manuals/mnl1.pdf
I ordered the exact same generator a few days ago. I'm waiting on it now. Great video.
@@kennethlamb2099 thank you. We lost power the other day and I got to put it to work.
Awesome generator, you can buy the tri fuel kit for 40$ if ya need natural gas.
Interesting... I know a lot of people go this route for their generator and I'm one of them. I have a 250 gallon tank outside that's really overkill for our house needs (gas oven and a gas fireplace insert) and I'd thought about having them come pick it up and go to a pair of 40 or 60lb propane tanks that could go next to the house with the changeover regulator. The last time I put 100 gallons of propane in was Oct 2021 and maybe had 25 gallons in it at that time. Here in late Jan 2025, it's still sitting at 27% (about 67 gallons) and I get charged higher rent since I'm a low volume user. So, it's a decision of do I, a) get rid of the big tank so the "big light blue tank" is out of the way and have tanks that will do our bid, or, b) just stay with the big tank. In central Arkansas, we don't lose power a lot, at worst 2 to 4 times a year for short spurts, although my daughter, who lives in Little Rock and goes to UAMS, lost power for2 weeks back in early 2023 when the tornado went through. So you just never know. I have two Genmax inverter generators that I run only on propane and the house can work off of a single (5500 running watts) if it's not during an extreme cold or extreme hot time. Otherwise, I can parallel the2nd for11,000 running watts and run the water heater (electric) and/or downstairs 5 ton 2 stage heat pump. I'm going to have the connections done where I can hook them direct to the 250 gallon tank for the time being but will do it at the house connection so it can stay there if I change to the twin smaller tanks later on. Interesting information on how that Westy didn't like playing well with a direct connection since that regulator probably drops the pressure down to between 9 & 13" water column which is what most portable generators need....11" WC
Good info. Thanks

I went to a propane dealer last week and wanted to get a tank about a size down from yours for our generator. They wouldn't even entertain it as they said the very thing you're doing right there wouldn't work.

Did you bring the front posts down at all? I saw another video where someone said the posts are 1mm and the front indentations are .71 so he reduced them by .3mm. My posts are 1.2 and the indentations are 1.3 so I should be good. Once mounted, I had a small gap up front but I can push it down with my finger and the gap closes. I didn't even search this topic but I'm a subscriber. How does UA-cam know I did this very thing today? My GE DW was 9 years old and quit the day after Thanksgiving. I got a GE Profile for a smoking Black Friday deal. This is the third GE I've installed and it's easier to use the same brand. JMO but step 1 is to empty out under the sink. I have a DW liner tray under the DW in case there's a slight leak. I once bought a house and discovered under the DW was rotted and inspector didn't catch it.
