    i reconnected with an old friend i met playing wow as a teenager over ff14 when he invited me to play it with his clan, dragon boots. years later now, in our 30's i've been playing for a while, i've made some of the best friends i've had playing this game and as we're all finishing dawntrail, i can't help but get a lil emotional, this feels like the start of a new adventure similar to how it felt joining a group of people i'd never met before. this games always gonna have a real special place in my heart, from the story and characters itself to the friends i made playing it.

    FF14 has made me think about life. Has given me many new friends and some that just leave suddenly. I have enjoyed being with many FC's and also had a great time with the story so far. I need to get to play Dawntrail as thus far all I have done is get the new jobs. XD The game itself didn't seem at first to draw me in. A streamer friend had been playing it and convinced me to try it. I knew I had been gifted the game ages ago, just the person was doing it for just getting the mount and at the time my computer couldn't handle the space for it. Also the computer I had was starting to run slower so that didn't help. I tried it and at first I had to try Dragoon. that was the starting class I had on my main. She was a Miquo'te (later I changed her to Elezen) and named her after my first D&D character I had. I really loved meeting people, hanging with a co-worker at one point, and just having fun. Not realizing that the game would become so much more than when you start out. When you talked about the people you met along the way. It reminded me of my old FC. Brought a tear to my eye cause I will miss the old days. The group that moved over to Oceanic servers cause they lived in Australia. They are a fun group to hang with and all, just the FC they had (and is rather dead even in dawntrail) has been a husk of it's former self. The old FC house has changed and it is not as whimsical as it once was. The parties and amazing hangouts there. So many memories that I had for the FC. It's been fun so far and I dunno how much longer I will be playing this game, but I will keep adventuring and meet new friends along the way. :)

    Hear... The songs created by nature and civilization. Feel... The multitude of sensations life offers. Think... And find your own reason to carry on from without and within. Edit: You know, tjose retrospective videos luke these are not just great to see what others think, but also to offer new impulses to bring thoughts to light. In Ultima Thule, we learn the reason , the answer, of every Scion. Thancred: To live and help others survive. Estinien: To be free from the past and moving past vengeance. Y'Shtola and Urianger: To seek wisdom from all around all worlds. G'raha: To learn the stories of many heroes and spread them so they may inspire new ones. The Twins: To pave the path for a brighter and better future.

    Hey there. I found this video in my recommendations, and I found it really moving. Life can be hard at times, and there's no shame in feeling how you feel. Something you said resonated with me, about how the most tragic thing you've ever suffered was the loss of your dog (apologies if I'm missing the correct wording). I've often felt as though it isn't my place to comment on my personal troubles when people I know have it so much worse than I do, but they have thankfully proven very loving and supportive, and I'd like to pay that forward. Your experiences are your own, for better or for worse. What "should be" doesn't have to equal "what is." Feel what you feel, take joy where you can, and accept that your sorrow is your own, and all of your feelings are valid. To use an example from today, a lot of people say "The Acolyte sucks, it ruined Star Wars," or else, "Brie Larson is a horrible actress who ruined Captain Marvel." And if I decide, "Well, I like those things and have no problems with them," then that's perfectly fine and entirely valid. And I remember losing my own dog years ago, and how horrible it made me feel. Others told me to just get over it and move on, but I couldn't, because he wasn't just a pet, he was family. Please, don't let anyone else tell you how to think or how to feel. Be yourself, and let that be perfectly fine. And thank you for sharing your message with all of us. Stand tall, my friend, and may your journey never end. ^_^

    I started 14 at the tail end of Heavensward. Just before Stormblood was announced. This game, FFXIV and in turn Yoshi P, saved my life. I was in a dark, dark place in my life. I graduated Highschool, I considered college but feared life and college itself. I was depressed and was suicidal and on medication to prevent my emotions from getting out of hand. This game saved me and my life. It allowed me to work through my pain and realize my potential. Now, I am 26, planning to go to college soon and tackle it in stride. I will forever be grateful to 14 and to Yoshida for all the experiences I have had and will have. To this end, I hope anyone who is/was in the position I was in, to experience what I experienced in 14. I made friends, made a raid team, and met my husband. They helped me tear down so many walls that prevented me from seeing the world and my self for what it was. This GAME saved my life and, I hope it saves many more. Do not fear life, do not fear truth, do not fear yourself. Face it, confront your fears and all will be well. You can and will make it, find your strength, cultivate it, realize it and put it to use. We are all human, we feel pain, fear, sorrow, joy and happiness. YOU can make it through this life, you can make a life for yourself as I and many others have. Thank you Yoshi, Thank you to the FFXIV team. And thank you Umbra for making this video. I hope your words, my words and the words of others reach others!~

    I'm amazing how many people are seeing the video after such a short time. I wanted to reply and thank all the comments earlier but was on a short vacation before DT. And for any kind viewers who want to stick around I will be trying to make more stuff as the initial release of Dawntrail pans out. I'm planning to do a reaction video of the dungeons and trials with my friends as we'll be doing the MSQ together. After that I'm not sure what my plans for the future are as I still am not quite sure what I want to make on this channel. I will continue to do 14 content when I feel I have something interesting to make but also want to step my toes into other games I love and perhaps Let's Plays if I feel confident enough in my personality and abilities. But for now I hope everyone enjoys Dawntrail and has many amazing adventures in the new world!

    I started ff14 back in September. And beat it in may. And my god what a ride this was. This is imo, the best final fantasy story ive seen. Some of the best written characters ive personally encountered. The way they make you actually think and question them. Like Emet. I hated him to begin with. But at the end of SdB, I understood him and no longer hated him. By the end of the EndWalker, i genuinely felt bad for him. "Remember us. Remember that we onced lived." When you see the truth of the past, the stuff that's happened, etc, it changes your perspective. When the final scene with Metion came up, I straight up cried. I genuinely felt bad for her. Despite knowing what the mateia did. There's SO much i could say about this game. But to summarize it- it's just beautiful. Hearing Answers in the beginning "man this is Epic" Hearing answers after beating EndWalker "crys in the corner" And remember, a smile better suits a heros face.

    Was just googling videos of the mount since I am 20ish cards away and I am getting excited. I stumble upon this video and we use the same chestpiece glam in the same color LOL also I am shocked you think Bozja is more work than Eureka. I found i had to slowly grind Eureka over two weeks to clear everything required, but I had Bozja finished in less than two days.

      It's a classic chestpiece that's I've been rocking since I beat Shb! The only section of Eureka I found to be slow was Pagos, everything else was pretty fast. I cleared pyros in one night even when playing solo. Bozja to me felt like more work as you can't just grind enemies during down time to level up but I'm glad you had a smooth experience with it! 100% agree with TBN, it doesn't make any sense from a tanking prospective. You need to the shield to break to he refunded damage. But if you're overgeared and/or used a mitigation buff that was too strong, the TBN shield doesn't break at all. Like....what? As tanks besides holding aggro, we're suppose to reduce damage taken yet this greatly contradicts that. I miss stormblood Dark Knight so much. It had actually MP management than just saving 3k MP for TBN on CD for dungeon mobs or next tankbuster. "Darkside" was its dps stance, and drained MP in combat, so had to use myriad of other actions to keep your MP up while also using it as a damage resource too. "Dark Arts" was a MP costing buff that enhanced other skill actions. Blood Weapon originally gave haste. Abyssal Drain use to be a GCD with an optional added heal effect via "Dark Arts" that would make War Bloodwhetting blush, yes DRK use to have excellent self heals. Salted Earth use to give job gauge regen. There was Sole Survivor, if an enemy died within this debuff on them, it would heal DRK by almost a quarter of their max HP/MP. The only good things current DRK has is lifeleech for Living Dead finally and lore wise as Fray aka Living Shadow, tho it's a derpy glorified dot with a 5 sec wasted summoning animation, that stops attacking when you are unable to, thus running to you instead and vanishes if your character its hit with a transformation debuf pissing away the rest of its duration.

    • @UmbraWynternox
      @UmbraWynternox Місяць тому

      Wow I never new the extend of how much Dark Knight had before and what's it lost. Sounds so much more interesting then it is now and plays more into the classic Dark Knight you'd see in older FF games. I would love to have something like Sole Survivor back. Thank you for the insightful comment!

    I love the aesthetic of Gunbreaker, but my issue with it is their aoe rotation is lacking. Fated Circle comes too late at LV72, or prior, I am just sitting on full gauge when aoeing dungeon mobs. Why isn't Blasting Zone a line aoe? I mean look at it ffs, giant energy sword slam. I'd say have a weaker versions of Bow Shock and Fated Circle gotten earlier at least to fix this, and make even Danger Zone at the start an aoe with fall off dmg.

    I forgot Paladin Cover exists. It's such a shell of it's once great former self. Cover use to reduce the damage you took for an ally. Instead now you take the exact full amount of damage that ally would take which has it feel like a tank buster plus uses it now uses job gauge while already being on 2 min CD too. I've seen it used at bad times, ended up getting the paladin killed. Imo it isn't worth using at all honestly.

    • @UmbraWynternox
      @UmbraWynternox Місяць тому
