I'm torn between this, and a Tenere 700 for the goal of 100k miles. Are your issues common?
What a ride. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks man!!! Fun day fun ride!
I used to ride enduros back in the 70's with one of these. I wish I'd have hung on to it. 3 other bikes I owned back then I wish I'd kept. Hodaka 100B, Yamaha IT175 and a Kawasaki Mach 3 500.
That was a lot of fun!
Good stuff as usual. As a past DR650 owner and current DRZ400S owner, they are both great bikes. Enjoy every chance you get to ride, especially with your son.
Dr650 or DRZ400? for someone who will be riding on the road to get to trails and is new off road rider. About 5’8ish and 165lb. I want some highway ability and occasional long distance travel. Seems like they are both very similar but the drz is lighter and different power band?
They are both a compromise. New to trail the drz400 with stock gearing.
@@brandtagone8487 I think I may end up with both when finances allow. Currently have a 1978 Honda CB400T and a Honda Grom. The old Honda has been down for a couple months due to me not checking the oil at the beginning of the season. Got a second engine, put it in and it just needs oil and spark plugs. Going to rebuild to original engine. Might get rid of it eventually if I could make some money on it. The Grom is a awesome bike just can’t keep up with traffic - I think the DRZ would be a good replacement for it.
I like your perspective. Thanks for sharing.
7090😂it’s 790
Man, the PNW is a gift. Cheers, from NH.
I had the '73 250 Alpina. My first motorcycle, paid 500$ for it. I loved it. Had some porting done and it would relly go. Always started on the 1st kick. However, the chain tensioner sucked. It was a poor design for something so necessary with a woods bike.
Yeah they sucked. A couple years later they redesigned them and turned them around. The rubber pad did work on the earlier models which solved the falling off the chain. Issue. Thanks man!
Great tracks xtrainer seems to be making short work of it what year and what Tires are you running
Thanks fun trail!. 2018 with golden tire front and irc gekkota rear ride on!
Ahh, the majestic bush pig in it's natural environment.
Yeah man! Got a vid with that title. Dr rocks!!!
Time to rack up a new year of riding. Also, happy new year to you.
Good to see you're doing well, and still riding, especially the old DR. I drifted off from your channel a while. I'm trying to go through all the old and new posted videos I missed. Well keep up the great videos and have a good day.
Good to hear from you! Happy new year!
As expected from brandtagone, an awesome adventure video! But Dude! it is time for a gopro upgrade! The Stabilization on the new gopro's is a HUGE! game changer! your followers will greatly accept, and approve of the upgrade. I know you don't like change,, but you'll get used to it. And learn to love the improvements as well. HAPPY TRAILS!!
Thanks John been thinking about it. Wish they made a session with a 3 and half hour battery like the session 4
That hill is bad ass!!! I wanna ride it
If you live in the area send me a post and we can ride it cause yeah it was fun and I have not ridden since. Its near Enumclaw WA
@@brandtagone8487 I wish I was out your way. Im in Upper Michigan. Put over 6,600 miles on my ol bush pig this year. Great bike choice brotha!
Yeah man love my dr!!!
beautiful scenery!
Like the lots of throttle or none style tires are cheap but the fun factor is there.
😎🍺
After watching this, I really wish I would of kept my ole DR 650,,, I really miss her...old reliable. Heres a link to my DR650 solo ride video. (same title) years apart. ua-cam.com/video/fq6lKdB6N5c/v-deo.htmlsi=VrAfixSPxMkeO546
Ouch!!😭
Kinda hurt a bit
Wow! No mud and snow. That different.. Well some wet spots.
Snow and Mudd will be here shortly. At least there is not dust
Purdy view! Not much for smoke, the winds are in your favor this day! Ha!
Yeah good day to ride!
dont here much about the 901 since it came out I wonder if its just not a right fit for most
Hard to find. 901 is a great bike....a bit softer than the 890 R.....but great.
Norden should be good for most unless your a top level enduro rider. The bike is beyond most peoples capabilities so not sure why it is getting dissed from the internet community. I absolutely adore this bike.
Nice to see some DR footage and enjoying those special times riding with your son. Thanks!😁
Thanks sure was a great day!
Old camera or not, I still enjoy watching, especially your DR650 stuff. You're a better rider than I am and I think your bike has a few more upgrades than mine. Life goals :) Ride safe!
Thank that was great to hear! Love my Dr!
The Dr is great. I had one as my first bike, since then have gone to cruisers, but recently sold the cruiser, and am thinking of going back to a dual sport. I originally rode with some experienced riders on ktm 500 ecx. It really was not that much fun. But i think it is because i was pushing way beyond my skill level and kept getting hurt. I dont really need a bike except for playing around town and going off-road. I am kind of gun shy on another dr as much as i loved it. I have been looking alot at the drz for the weight savings. I am really just hoping to have one bike that can cover all the riding i want. I was thinking a drz with a big bore maybe. What do you think?@@brandtagone8487
Nice ride.
What a great day!
Epic. This was my dream, but alas, no sons. I ride alone.
Thanks man!
Have you ever heard about Mel's and the Magic Seal Tumor 🦭 look it up on Google or UA-cam the Hole 🕳️ is near Nile Washington let me know when you find it thanks, Stong 🙏🏼👍🏼💯
Good times, Rolled thru there last weekend and Bethel Ridge.
Cool trail with some nasty switch backs and slippery slopes. And spooky drop offs.
8:26...Dang. That was close.
Sight seeing not recommended but damn hard not to do with these views
Nice meeting you all on the ferry over. Looks like some fun was had. Passed my test and had a nice ride on the v-strom. When my DR is fixed up I’d love to ride with you all.
Right on! When you are ready just text were riding if it"s not raining
what FS roads are these? I'd like to go.
Did you finally buy a new Gopro? your bike, nose and mustache are bouncing all around while your helmet is perfectly still in the video! Much better than the old camera footage! I love the 2 stroke bike sound. I miss the smell of castrol oil 2 stroke mix smell. It might be time to go 2 stroke bike shopping! Ha! Great video!
Nah same cam. You should get a dirt bike they are so much fun!!!
That was a good ride!
That was a fun ride! Looking forward to the next one!
Great classic bike I hope you still have it. 👍
👍
Beautiful ! Sauk river area!
Had one new, low front (alu) fender, loved that bike...
Dad bought this used in 73 and it had all the stock alum stuff on it but me being young and a bit rough broke much of it. Unfortunately a bunch of it got lost over the years. Awesome fun bikes!
Hermosa máquina.
Thanks man!
Tahuya is a blast, Love that place. They have camping spots at the horse camp for overnighting. So fun. Sorry for replying on your older videos but they’re a hoot to watch
Best part it it is one of the few areas that can be ridden in the winter.
Wow it must be alot steeper than the video goves it credit.
The wide angle on the gopro makes it look childish but yes it is extremely steep just not tall.
Such a cool place up and around Hwy 410, Some beautiful sites. I rode on that same trail years ago on a 79 DR 500 🙂 That bike was a beast, So much fun.
One of the states finest!
They’re torquey bastards, I just rode KTM 500 and my uncorked dr had more torque, which surprised the hell out of me!
Just a blip or 2. Long live the dr
Awesome!! Big bikes in Walker valley! You ain't on your Beta, going just a little bit slower. Ha! Let me know when you guys plan on riding next time on the big bikes in my area. The wife and I sold the house in Woolley. we are living in Custer now on 5 acres. looking forward to building a trials bike course on the property. I do not own a trials bike yet, so the KTM 790 will have to do for now.
Did you sell the DR?
No still have it
All motorcycle Channels just ride around with a go pro lol
great time on the Norden!
Yep not many of those left this year
I see the gear and the speed on your display but what does the number 5 stand for?
That is the setting I have it on in explorer mode there are 10 settings. Explorer mode lets the rider choose how much throttle and rear wheel slide they want in that mode. 5 will let me slide out the rear and supposedly not let the bike slide too far
