Many thanks indeed for filming. I was on this train !
Thanks that is an amazing difference
Hey Graham, just wondered if I could use some of this footage in a video I am doing on FNW? Would be very useful thank you!
Yes of course! But please give credits where used.
@@grahamedgeworth7284 I will - thank you!
Great video, we were there yesterday 15-10-24 The water level of the reservoir was at least 20 feet below the top of the dam, that's a huge amount of missing water and it's been a relatively wet summer.
Wonderful nostalgia - when Clapham Jct was dominated by slam door trains. Thank you for sharing. Some nice filming - guessing the light wasn't easy on a cloudy December day.
So nice videos
I was on this trains hauled by 50008 that day! It worked the 12:57 Exeter St Davids to Barnstaple and 14:14 return, then continued on the stopper to Paignton and back approx 15:30 from Exeter. Thunderer then returned to Exeter and did another run to Barnstaple. All these were vice DMU.
Thanks for posting this. I reckon it’s early 1988 probably spring, as Class 155 units didn’t start until around then?
Thanks for posting excellent to watch great for modelling
i am amazed that so many people in Gloucester have taken the time to learn a foreign language , they certainly had me fooled
The voice on the tannoy is from a Hercule Poirot episode
Say hello to Keith Mountjoy in Longlevens for me. Legend.
Those were the days ,summer Saturdays on Dawlish beach was fantastic ,train after train and parcels freight also thrown into the mix ,great pot o tea from the beach cafe just on the beach line,👍👍
Thompson knew how to build a mixed traffic locomotive.
Great 50 footage - more please! First bit must be summer 1990 as 50026 and 50032 were both still in service, but withdrawn in autumn 1990.
Excellent love old video's 👍👍👍
Lived there in the 1970s (Rogiet). Brings back memories.
That was awesome looking at the old trains thank you 😊😊
That toby carvery is still there and still floods every time there’s heavy rain.
Lol
Great video Graham, as for the 'armchair experts', not quite so much... although their comments make for hilarious reading. Clearly people who have no idea what they are talking about, apart from the mainline steam driver who has driven the B1. 🙄
My thoughts precisely!
That is one looooonng train she's got to move! A good driver, and, by gum, she makes it! I can't tell, but I get the impression that a slight grade is involved here.
Hi Graham. Thought that was excellent. I recently went there too. I did a short video. Loved your opening shots by the river looking up at the first dam. Great job.👏👏👍
Wow that takes me back,yhanku😊
Nice 👍
What a pity that the people can‘t simply listen…
Great video! I've subscribed! The Bentley Miniature Railway is one of my favourites!
It's not pedestrianised . with cars, vans, bicycles, and electric scooters using the centre as they see fit, there's absolutely zero police presence in gloucester so no ones sanctioned.
Hi, great video. I'm just about to buy a 3" Atkinson. I noticed i your video you can run your engine without the wheels engaged. Wondered f you had an details on the modification to allow that?
Sorry Ian I only videoed it for a friend.
trains really were filthy in the early 90's
the intercity swallow livery was and still is the best ever!
I WAS ONE OF THE FIRE MEN ON THIS FIRE IT WAS A VERY HOT NIGHT AND A LONG ONE WHEN I WALK ROUND THE DOCKS I FEEL SO PROUD THAT I HELPED KEEP the History of This place
Hey. Can I please use some of your footage in my films? I will credit you for it.
Sorry for the delay. Yes I am happy for you to use the video with credits.
The good old days…
When Gloucester was a city not a rubbish trip now
Absolutely
Not a mobile phone in sight 😅
Amazing to see this old footage. I have a very personal connection to the fire.
Grass.😛
This is my favorite class of British steam locomotive. I wish more survived.
God, I miss British Rail! Especially the 37.
Great video of this Train
Nine coaches 😮 properly brakes not blown off.
Nice.
What a fine beauty. It is so wonderful people see this steam tram running with passengers. Thank you so much for sharing this ride with us.
Glorious memories.
Not unusual once saw jubilee leander do exactly the same leaving edale after stopping to take on water.
Nice video.
Suitably corrected. Thanks Euros. Glad you enjoyed the video
ITS A REAL LIFE HENRY!!!
5:16
33:00 and that's why you'd want to configure your DCC decoder such that the loco lights are explicitly controlled, not set automatically by the direction of travel ;)
Brilliant video :) Did the locos reverse in the station throat generally, or run back to Clapham Yard?
Never gave it much thought. Someone may come up with the answer.
Hi in my spotting days the previous released Class 50 would depart after the train it brought in left then formed the new departure thus releasing the previous arrival. I know at least one class 50 was stabled at the yard on the right when you left Waterloo either as a spare or ECS. The released loco would depart to get the right point change to the next platform duty hope that’s clear…I use the same operation on my train set as I have a terminus station makes manoeuvring more interesting and shares the trips Richard
