I seen this same tour in pgh I was only 19 those was the days concerts at $12.50 a ticket
Bird legs on bass :)
Outrageous and absolutely outstanding!😊😊
I was there. Great Show!
Oo, drums! Love the probably inadvertent echo.
Jean-Luc Pointy, as I like to think of him. I'm easily entertained.
That's Ruth!
Nice saw the Chicago show my buddy went to this one
Holly shit ''they'' need to release this !!!
Sinister Footwear sponsored by Nike :)
Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/7yUvt5OctFY/v-deo.html
There were so many incredible solos around this period (specifically in '78 when Frank's soloing suddenly went off the charts...way beyond anything played before or since) that's it's tricky to say what's best. But this solo is right up there!
L o v e l y .
I forgot how much of Zappa’s Guitar solo ended up on the official release of STLTSADW.
WTF? Did these folks just lose their minds?
This is such an amazing piece.
Man, that guitarsolo…!!!
I was there standing 2nd row in front of Frank, after seeing him over 30 times this was the most incredible performance of anyone ever.
Neat, have never heard the Baby Snakes lineup play Big Leg Emma
There are five official versions on the USB key in the Halloween 1977 box set.
@blackpage1538 Haven't taken the plunge with Halloween 77 yet. It seems according to Donlope that this lineup played Big Leg Emma quite a few times, just not on any of the stuff I've previously heard. wasn't on the Hammersmith Odeon set, though there is a version of Envelopes similar to this one on there, with the Tommy Mars vocals
@@cybertronian2005 Big Leg Emma was performed for the last times on that 1977 US tour.
Mindörökké Zappa!
lmao cool version
Outstanding and outrageous, but we like it don't we boys and girls?😊😊
Space cadet gale peaking around the corner
Gail
I was front front row that night ❤
I’ve been searching for a UA-cam recording of this Jones Crusher version for a while! Hats off for posting it🎉👍 . As an aside the Leatherette guitar wig out has a few Led Zep nods to Dazed and Confused and Whole Lotta Love. The WLL riff is used as part of Duck Duck Goose on Lather but I’m not sure where that particular recording came from. Any other recordings from the gig would be lovely to hear. The version of Dinah moe humm from 10th Feb 77 had me bellowing along in the microphone as FZ held it for me to sing. Good times 😊
Leather goods not Leatherette obs.
I was there! I like this Ray White version version over the later recorded one.
Petite Wazoo! Jim Gordon all the way to the right.
Sounds like a fun time.
Thanks 🎶Zappa !
Was there, only saw 1st show. First hearing Montana. Do you have rest of 2nd show?
There's no known recording of the late show.
Sounds like Frank is playing with a slide at some point around 12:00.
I love the electric sitar Vai's playing on this version :)
Aynsley had the best sounding drums and rock groove of all Zappa's drummers.
Asparagus!
This is the coota, it good on Joes Garage , you know he used to mow the lawns ,but this is badass good I'm livin it lovin it too , ain't heard this vers coota . Zzzaappaa
Bianca never did really fit in if we're being honest with ourselves
Her best night was two nights before on Oct 29th at the Philadelphia Spectrum. This was Frank's warm up show before NY on Halloween and it was the better night.Bianca Eddie and the bass players solos were incredible just give it a listen.I was there and for a fourteen year old kids first concert it was magical.
@@davecorcoran3874 I'll take your word for it!
@@lepoisson why not give it a listen I'm sure you can find 18 minutes of time.
So nice to hear new version of an old favourite! What a treat.
Antoine, thanks for fulfilling a FZ - UZ connection.
The Z connection! It's an honor!
Very nice, I love these very obscure works of FZ.
As always, thank you FZ and BP!!
Right Fuckin On THANKS 🎃 :{- ✌️
01:38 Chester seemed to have missed slowing down halftime which he corrected two bars still in cut time later which probably cost him an evil glance of Frank's. Unusual soloing. Love the "picture" of Montana dental floss, great job with all the necessary details on it!!!
The audience couldn't know who Joe was (3:14) 😁
killer solo. love that vamp with the sub
Isn't that Denny Walley singing?
He never played with the 1976/77 band.
@blackpage1538 that's why it was confusing. never heard Ray sound quite like that!
Guess it's Bianca?
I mean... you could look in the description for who plays on the song.
@@williamnorkelun1468 It's Ray
Could listen to this all day
Nice upload, thank you 🫡
Guitar God!
Love the Witch ! Saw FZ first in 1967 Garrick Theater by accident.
