A benefit outside of just having kids to spend time with and to teach would be that you kind of get a discount grandparent roll. You can be more of a friend to them and they can be more willing to open up to you and your positive influence. You can be the guy that takes them out for treats did the parents normally wouldn't. This does run the risk of them learning to see you as more of a peer than a role model, but overall it's totally worth it.

I’ve always side eyed the “how he treats his mother” mantra….my BD puts his mother on a pedestal, respects her, won’t tolerate anyone treating her poorly, but has been abusive, unfaithful, & so incredibly disrespectful to me & treats other women he’s messed w/the same. Another important question is would a fat person date a skinny person? Like a lot of folks are humble and know that their body doesnt match their preferred partners so they dont initiate. We all miss 100 percent of the shots we dont take. I see lots of people all different shapes and sizes dating. Hell, im body builder fighter type and live that kind of life style but my partner doesnt, shes very gentle and nurturing and she feeds me very well and she behaves like a traditional woman and me and my family totally love her, shes normal physically, nor skinny or fat but shes at her natural form and its awesome, When i retire from fighting im going to let my body assume its natural form with normal eating habits and patterns. No more extreme cuts, and trying bulk up, just being happy with what nature gave me. Most people should strive for this but if you focus on having zero fat, your body will be uncomfortable and if yoy eat too much you will swell up with fat cells. Just eat only what you need to sustain your energy and enjoy being you!
