I lived in a Southeast Asian country. A majority of the population here used Meta not only for social communication but also to promote businesses here. The amount of disinformation people receive here, from government operated promotions, to shady ads from Shien, it feels like we are all living in terrible times for internet freedoms.

They can try their hardest, and sure, they may win battles, but they'll always lose the war. They rely on money, and every single time, a company like this relying on money to get them by always makes them fail. No matter how much money they make, it will never make up for dis-satisfied consumers of the product. If consumers arent happy, and facebook doesnt make any changes to make their consumers happy, no amount of money spending is going to save them. Get rid of the CEO's that only care about appeasing shareholders and youll start seeing some change. Replace everyone in top management with actual developers who want to see the site improved and youll see a complete 180 in the amount of disappointed consumers for said product. Its not surprising to see such a failure company doing this shit. They always attack everything that threatens their top spot.

I had stopped using facebook back in the early 2000s, and I'm glad I did. I've never really "craved" the facebook-like experience since then but "next door" seems to be a good substitute. The kind of misinformation post like that article you showed, gets deleted fast.

The reason it installs it again is because each game is in its own wine/proton prefix and they can't "see" one another. So when you install the game, it won't be able to find the EA app installation path and thus will initiate the install. It is not on EA, it is on Heroic devs and because how wine/proton is done. I think it could be done so that common parts are universal but most launchers do not do that.

Well, for me whatever I change in the overlay settings I still see the defaults (CPU fps frame time graph ) global enable or otherwise.
