Puppy Management (Intro)
Переглядів 27Місяць тому
Having a new puppy is very exciting and a brand new chapter in your family’s life! It is also very easy to be complacent and allow all kinds of behaviors you would definitely not want to see in your future adult dog. This complacency usually comes in the form of way too much freedom and access to a puppy that knows nothing about rules and boundaries. I will be sharing a series of videos abo...
Slow Dog Intros - Final Phase!

The actual physical interaction we have been working toward for several days between two somewhat bossy females😁
Slow Dog Intros - Phase 3
Переглядів 68Місяць тому
In this phase, the dogs are going to have their first physical interaction. Both dogs are on leashes and being handled by a separate person. The goal here is to keep the energy calm and relaxed, the leashes loose and let them have some sniffs, but also have handler focus and respond to recalls. We are granting a new level of freedom and interaction while still maintaining rules and boundaries.
Slow Dog Intros - Phase 2
Переглядів 59Місяць тому
This phase of the introduction is about the dogs learning to exist in closer proximity. This will bring more pressure and in a lot of cases a lot more excitement, but I am going to wait until that fades away and they become old news to each other before I will consider letting them meet physically in the next phase. Do not rush it! There is no reason to rush it!
Slow Dog Intros - Phase 1

Whether you are a foster introducing a new foster dog into your home or a family adding a new dog to a home with an already existing dog…. do yourself and the dogs a favor and take it very very slow. There really is no reason to rush it. Even if the dogs seem very happy and excited to meet and there is no sign of aggression - this is still your chance to seize the opportunity to establish y...
Cat Intros!
Переглядів 40Місяць тому
Setting clear rules and boundaries and limiting freedom is absolutely crucial to slowly introduce new dogs into your home where there are existing pets such as cats. Existing pets deserve to maintain their current level of comfort, and the new pet should have a road ahead of earning their freedom and understanding the rules and boundaries before they are given free range in the new home. So m...

Nails!
Переглядів 822 місяці тому
Nails are a tricky thing for a lot of people…. it becomes an avoided grooming task, and the dog ends up with very long nails that are not only horrible to look at, but actually painful for a dog and changes their gait. You do not need to put peanut butter on your forehead!!😂🤦‍♀️ Do the work, take your time and have expectations of your dog with this grooming task!

We've just moved to RF, and I'm hoping we'll get to work with you when we're settled. My reactive girl Lola deserves to be as happy as Tig. ❤

Your dog should do what you want to please you. not for treats. Thats the how i train my herding dogs. i never use treats as a reward cause i cant throw a treat 200+ yards down field when they take a command. Plus I want a reliable dog.

Honey ….. you need to be doing this with his family !!! On the ground …. First ! ….. as a breeder of 40 years …. Great Danes Irish wolfhounds spaniels. I’ve had many different breeds of dogs as rescue. You are setting up many dogs young puppies for a lot of physical abuse from their new owners. ! People even vet techs don’t realize that you’ve gotta have your hand on the puppy on a table a pie at all times and you’ve gotta be paying attention !!! All the time when you’re handling a puppy and most people aren’t even paying attention when they’re driving a car they’re texting too much. You better review your videos cause you’re gonna be causing trouble for animals. ! Vera

You don't show what to do if your dog doesn't listen while on the long line. You showed 100% success only.

That's the point of the long line. You will have 100% success, because the dog has no choice. If they don't come, you make them come by using the long line. It's just common sense.
