Two things. There is a new herbicide from Dow called Grazon that is persistent. It persists in straw and through cows and horses into the manure. It's been bagged into commercial compost and manure mixes and will leach out of straw into the dirt. It has been killing home gardens for a few years now. Thickened, curled leaves, making flowers but not setting fruits, long leggy tomatoes with curled leaves and no fruit are some of the symptoms. ua-cam.com/video/UIDZ0HnQ_uE/v-deo.htmlsi=We0J2sdzPxMIZrLl Also water at the ground in evenings- at least 2 inches minimum in depth. If you spray from over head the sunlight will evaporate and also cause burns from water droplets.

Hey Eli’s dad again, What I learned over the last two weeks composting is FEED it once a week with 2-3x more green than brown you’re adding depending you’re green and brown source! I had gave it’s initial stack and layer then just let it be but I didn’t keep adding green but added to much brown and got soggy and stinky now I’ve added only about two 5g buckets worth of grass clippings and it’s restarted and hot again, for me the easiest way to ratio is just 2-3x more greens than browns for a hot compost

You must try either _O Dark Thirty or in the evenings.'_ I recommend you think about investing in some _Shade Cloth._ I also noticed you watering something OVERHEAD instead of at the base of the plant. When you do this to 'leafy' plants the roots don't get the water. I'm so sorry this is happening to you but be advised you're not the only Texas Gardener (or Southern Gardener) for whom this Heat is proving to be really difficult. You'll adapt and learn for next season! Be blessed.

The heat has been relentless. I'm in central Texas and my tomatoes won't even set fruit, lots of blossoms though. Thank God we're getting some relief this week!❤
