Kristoffer Helle
Sweden
Приєднався 14 бер 2014
I'm a bass player from Sweden. I'm not the best bass player in the world but I can fake it so you will think I'm ok. After done almost nothing else for almost 30 years I quit playing in 2017 to pursue other adventures but picked it up again when this horrible pandemic hit in 2020. Now I'm trying to get my chops back. The reason I do videos is so that I put a little pressure on myself to actually do something.
Kristoffer Helle - Survivor - Eye of the Tiger - Bass
I’ve posted two shorter jams of this song before but now it’s time for the real thing. This is an iconic song from a classic movie from one of the best songwriting teams ever in Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan.

Kristoffer Helle - Stevie Wonder - Superstition - Bass
Переглядів 33114 днів тому
What a song this is and there is so many good versions of it out there and I think that’s a sign of what makes a great song. But there’s nothing like the original by Stevie Wonder himself. For a long time I’ve had an idea of an arrangement of this song and because I’m a bass player my ideas is that the bass would play the driving role that the clavinet does. How I play here gives a hint of how ...
Kristoffer Helle - Madonna - Material Girl - Bass

Another Madonna song with Bernard Edwards credited as bass player and with Nile Rodgers as producer. I was visiting a museum this summer with some family and friends and we went on a guided tour. And the tour guide quoted this song and I immediately thought that "that's an intressting bass line" and that I might try it out. The museum was Gustavianum in Uppsala, Sweden and there they had a pain...
Kristoffer Helle - Björn Skifs - Akta Dej - Bass
Переглядів 5921 день тому
This is the song Akta Dej which translates to Watch Out. Björn Skifs is a Swedish singer and actor. You might have heard him without even knowing it. He is the one singing the song Hooked on a Feeling when he was in the band Blue Swede that went to no 1 on the Billboard list in 1974 and from what I know have been a hit recently again. He is a big name here in Sweden and has been for a very long...
Trying the Digitech Mosaic Pedal - Long version

Long version of me trying my new Digitech Mosaic pedal. It's originally a pedal for guitar to simulate a 12-string guitar but I try it on bass.
Kristoffer Helle - Winger - Rainbow in the Rose - Bass

I don't really know how to start with this one. Rainbow in the Rose is one of the songs that has meant so much to my musical journey. It was never released as a single but has been a staple in the bands live set for years. At least they have played it every time I've seen them live. It is one of those albums tracks that have become a classic. Rainbow in the Rose definitely shows that Winger is ...
Kristoffer Helle - Kenny Rogers - If I Could Hold On to Love - Bass
Переглядів 91Місяць тому
This song is written by Steve Lukather and Randy Goodrum and released the same year as Toto's I'll Be Over You. I can't stop thinking about if this was written during the same sessions. It sure is a brilliant song and Kenny does a great job. It's produced by the mastermind Jay Graydon and he also plays the guitar solo. I think I've might said it before but Jay Graydon is one of the best guitar ...
Kristoffer Helle - Tommy Shaw - Ever Since the World Began - Bass

If I could sing I would like to sing this song as good as Tommy Shaw. This song is written by Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan and first released on Survivor’s 1982 album Eye of the Tiger. I rapt like Survivor’s version but if I had to choose it would be this version by Tommy Shaw. His voice is just amazing and the production from Terry Thomas is in my opinion top notch. I think that Tommy Shaw...
Kristoffer Helle - Winger - You Are the Saint, I Am the Sinner - Bass

Winger is one of my favorite bands of all time. They were one of the first bands I really discovered on my own through my almost obsessive watching of MTV. Most of the bands I liked before was introduced to me mainly by my uncle but not Winger. One of the highlights of my week was on Sunday nights when MTV Europe aired the US Top 20. On that show you could discover music that hadn't made it to ...

This is a song where the bass plays an important part. The whole song depends on the groove from the bass. I love songs like that.

Beautiful fretless tone, wow
@@ArthurPerez-t2e Thanks! Need to get my fretless back together soon! It’s in pieces right now cause I’m changing pickups to EMGs.
Excellent work…as always. I just wish you made it look a bit more difficult. It’s so depressing to see how relaxed you are when you play. I know, being relaxed is a key to sounding good, but I can’t help the way it makes me feel. 😂
@@kennonmoen4424 Thanks Kennon but I can’t help that I’m relaxed when I play. Relaxation is one of the keys to be in the pocket I think. If you want to see a video when I’m not relax go see me do Taurian Matador. Think it’s impossible to be relaxed when you play that song.
Always love a Survivor tune, especially this one.
@@walterdog9281 Yes! It’s a classic!
Always a fun song to play ! Well played 😊
@@davidg9927 Thanks you! Sure is fun to play.
your really good man! I want you back cover?
@@Chewscore Thank you! Jackson 5? I’ll have that in mind for sure.
Sweet fretless, didn't know you had one
Still got it but it’s in pieces at the moment. I’m changing the pickups to EMGs but I’ve ran into some hurdles in the way.
Perfection.

I watch this now. AFTER I get my OC-2.
@@kennonmoen4424 There’s no conflict between the OC-2 and the Mosaic. Think the Mosaic is way cheaper though.
You really put the “fun” in funky! Nice glisses.

I have some catching up to do here! Love this. I'm still a big fan of her work from the early days through the early 90s. Would be amazing to hear you play along with Guy Pratt's immortal bassline on Like a Prayer. Killer tune.
@@sethcashman1011 I’ve definitely thought about it more than once. Maybe I’ll do a short and just do the end part.
Great sounding pedal.
@@EliezerMercado1975 Thanks! Sure sounds great!
Fuckin awesome man! Can you play Forget Me Nots bassline?
Happy weekend to you, Kristoffer.
Thanks! The same to you!
Hooked On A Feeling was an incredible song all those years ago and I remember it from when I was at High School and never knew much about it and here we are. I can still recognise his voice. That is great bass Kristoffer and excellent playing. What a bummer you couldn’t totally fool your son. The 80s were great years! 🇦🇺👍
The guy that wrote Hooked on a Feeling was the same guy that wrote Suspicious Minds. If I remember the story correct Hooked on a Feeling was given to some other act at first but it flopped and it wasn’t until Blue Swede made it that it became a hit and it was the first Swedish act to go to no 100 in the Billboard chart. The 80’s were truly great. If it was socially acceptable I would look like someone straight out of Miami Vice.
I love this song!

Great playing Kristoffer and a song l have never heard. Have you ever heard Bayou Woman by Tony Joe White from the album Lake Placid Blues as it has an incredible bass line from someone we know.🇦🇺👍
@@steven_scattergood Thanks Steven! I’d good like it you should really check out Winger and Kip Winger’s solo albums. I’m just thinking about the guitar finish Lake Placid Blue. Don’t have anything with that finish anymore but I have a start that’s Daphne blue.
Great sounds from Kristoffer.

Slap that shii put to hell... Yu gotta.. gotta go fkn all out for this song... Kicking pictures off the wall every corus... Dom ! Dom ! Dom ! Boom ! Picture to expensive.. I want my money back.. boom. You should calapse after that song.. I gonna super it up to fk.. if thats even possible.. it deserve... More.. heavey metal version maybe.. every style of music. Drum and bass. Rap. Metal. Remastered minimal deep friggin bass.. just suped up to the hilt with todays craft . I never knew this song existed .. till crokey assed meat head tried to pull off a concert in ourr area.. fan from the womb !! Can sing meatloaf like tarzan can minic bird calls.. ! He cleverly intro,d the song vibe / teme..covertly as he does this tune.. them blew me away with the best shi ive ever seen and heard and felt.. white knuckled at the front .. thinking in a awed scream.. holy fk.. yeah.. no mistakes .. no let off the trottle trough this fukn joyride of a song with a driving teacher protesting in a rage.. a well thought out rant... That computes like a god slapping you around for doing evil.. I never knew it existed for 35 years.. His fkn voice worked for that one... My money clunked trough the meter for that one song.. still is. Lol.. Rockandrollandro.. with his darn daughter... Im like oh christ ! His voise sounds like my grans butt.. im getting ripped... Interesting enough in other ways.. i got thousands to sing him happy birthday.. it held meat in a loving headlock wedgy deal for a few minutes.. he had to submit.. we do really love him.. BUT THEN SOMEONE LIT THE LEMON. AND FEKN BLEW MY FACE AND SOUL OUT.. 100 POINTS. PERFECT.. FIRST TIME HEARING AND IT WAS COMPUTING INTO ME LIKE A FRAME SERIAL STAMPER.. I COULD INJEST THE REST OF THE MASTERPEACE TO LIKE EASY LISTENING FOR SPACE KADETS.. POWERFULL STUFF.. ID SAY MIKE PATTEN BE PROOD.. IF IN A POSSITIVE MOOD.. WITH THAT CREATION... ACTUALLY PATTEN COULD DO A MONSTER.. OR MELLOWER EVEN VERSION OF THIS.. BE FUNNY.. COULD BACK HIS VOICE WITH HIMSELF AND GET SOME CRAZY EFFECT.. LIKE MR BROWNSTOWN OR SOME SHII... I JUST DIDDNT UNDERSTAND THE LYRICS WEN YOUNGER... AHH SIGMA EMPATHS.. GOD LOVES A TRYER
Wanna redo it.. even more powerfull.. gonna nitros that song.. should be a world antum. . Have... Slash on guitar.. nim from project nim on drums going ape.. mike patten back me up as lead vocals ( drunk ) the wailers and fk it.. meats daughter ( shed be nice and rusty and rough voise by now... Flea or bungles bass player.. and 4 back up guitarist to fkn stretch face and spike hair.. and carl cox dropping a monster subliminal bass ( snuck in , synced to reinforce song ) and a whole act on the stage explaining the lyrics.. aaaaahhhh ! Its all or nothing... And we get a bit.. Its time.. reupgrade of everything... Empatic people have being dominated by slobbering creeps for tooooo long.. tis time for a upgrade.. plenty of subject matter, understanding and experience... Ever hear and read the song retrovertigo by mr, bungle... Better than liver and cianti... Fff fff fff fff f ! ? Poetry from the blue hole of humanity
And from the foreheads of the highest peaks that suck on the teets of the devine.
Flea and bungles bass player.. in all fairness. . The song blew my socks off and i tore the rest off .. or the got blown off like i stabbed a truck tire.. meat was doing a rip concert coughing out songs.. the that song came on with a sneaky intro.. never ever ever heard it.. never knew it existed since 3 years old.. and i got bugged out by it.. amazing tune.. who wrote it.. if steinman wrote it.. respect.. love it.. bang on
Tommy did a great rendition of this song but my favorite is Jimi Jamison’s
@@walterdog9281 Never heard Jimi Jamison’s version before. I thought I had all his albums but I can’t find that song on any album. But it sure was a great version. I saw him live before he passed and he did a great job.
@@kristoffer-helle it was a single and featured on the Lock Up soundtrack. There’s a CD single out there but it’s really rare! I’m still looking for his albums after Empires myself
@@walterdog9281 I think Crossroads Moment is his absolute best solo album. I remember when it came, the reunion between him and Jim Peterik didn’t disappoint you.
