1. These "My Ideal" videos try to fix problems (mainly in the railway series) that were never problems. Like the "Thomas being older than Gordon" problem. It was never a problem. If older people can act immature, and young people can act mature, why can't these same attributes apply to engines? Somebody's age doesn't fully determine their personality. Not to mention that these engine are somehow born with the ability to speak the language of where ever they're built in, and already have an understanding of morals. You could argue that it does come down to personal preference, but saying Thomas being older than Gordon is a problem is just incorrect. 2. The "Queer" stuff was more of satire. To show how people add unnecessary stuff to there takes on characters. It was not intended to offend. But just letting us know that a "Thomas" character is queer or any sexuality is just unnecessary and weird. I know engines have feelings so they could feel love, and they don't have anything that truly determines their gender besides their voice, and people can be whatever they want to be. But the engines clearly see each other as friends only. You're writing a story about engines, not a romance novel. Shipping in the fandom has been controversial for a long time. Although I used to do that, I've since stopped due to finding the concept a bit cringe. (even killed off a character because of it) Giving an engine a love drive (queer or not) is just strange. I feel like making Thomas characters queer just feels like pandering, because every time I see an engine be queer in somebody else's fan content, it's either handled poorly, or is just said they have this attribute and is never expanded upon. I guess never expanding could be fine since a love plot wouldn't need to come up. But if you're really not going to expand on that bit about the character's lore, what's the point? There's a difference between representation and pandering, and instance I've seen just feels like pandering.

these videos aren't coming from a place of hate, it's mealy very outrageous satire. I don't hate people who make my ideal videos. It's just that some of their takes are kind of awful.
