in that situation you’re supposed to open the trunk by removing the lock on the drivers door. you need a flathead screwdriver and a socket. the locksmith should have those tools on him.

Why not just push the trunk opening button in the drivers side panel?

Thanks this really helped me as i was stuck in the same predicament for the second time and yes they opened the door but that was it . Searched the internet although no answers until i came across yours. I do whatever it takes to get back home and on the road. Thanks alot .

Good explaining details on what worked for you. I just tried helping friend with keys in trunk. I had a door jam to work into window but would not open. So will continue to look but you did give good info on a fix. Thanks for your video. I drove friend home for spare keys... :-)
