Planet Models XP-54 Swoose Goose 1/72
Resin model kits tend to be of subjects that other manufactures don't produce and this is one of them. An experimental fighter from WW2.
The kit is pretty good with decent panel lines ( maybe a little wide ) and requires a higher level of model building experience. It can only be put together using superglue as normal model cement will not work. So care must be taken when using it.
I have built numerous resin kits in the past and they all seem to have some kind of fault, this kit is no exception. No discoloured canopy, slightly warped/twisted wings and badly made propellers stood out.
That said it does build into a nice looking and unusual model.

Never built one of these before. A nice kit from Matchbox, no filler needed and goes together very well. The only down side is getting the top wing inplace so it is level and true to the bottom wing. Also if you want to rig the model (put bracing wires on it) then this is a major headache. Patience is needed so be aware if if you intend to build one. This kit goes all the way back to 1969 but the kit I build in the video was from 2001. So it's not surprising the difficulty I had with the decals. There are after market items available but they are not cheap and would have to be ordered from Germany. Had I built the Army version I would have had an easier time but it wouldn't look as impressive. I love the way it turned out If you enjoy the v...

So can I improve and update this. It was cheap on ebay. I built a few Novo kits back in the day and not built one for years. That was for good reason, they are not great kits. Many of them are re-released Frog kits, need a lot of work and terrible decals. A point I forgot about when building this model. I chose the kit not because it was cheap but because it was different. Knowing it would need...

Been after one of these for some time but I wasn't paying the prices people wanted. Yes it is a very nice kit to build and looks great but way over priced in my opinion. It' much smaller than I expected, you'll see in the video when I compare it to my 1/72 scale Ju-88. I had to take another look on the box because it looked more like a 1/144 scale. A rare kit from 1997. It is quite a nice little model but not without a couple of minor problems. The front canopy for one and I found it a bit of a challenge to get fuselage together along with the engine covers on top. I motorised it using 2 Micro Motors, both are 4mm x 8mm in size and relatively easy to fit but with minor alterations. If you enjoy the video then Please Like and Subscribe Mike

My most tricky motorised model yet. I had to think about this one and almost built it as a static model. I'm glad I didn't I think it looks great. The Ju88 moulding goes back as far as 1991 and had raised panel lines and detail, not sure about the Me109 part of the the kit though. Thanks for that, a great job. I built one when I was a kid, which was fondly remembered as I'm originally from Stranraer and they were stationed at the port in 1940 before being replaced by Sunderlands. I wonder if you can do a motorised Gloster Meteor (based on an existing kit). What I mean is... a Gloster Meteor MkI was a testbed for the first turbo-prop engines and the conversion was called the Trent Meteor named after the Rolls-Royce engines installed, just an idea as I've never seen a Trent Meteor model.
@@dcanmore Thanks ! 👍 I know the Trent Meteor you speak of...It's a very rare model nowadays. I think it could be motorised yes. It will probably be a heck of a lot easier than this Stranrear 🤣🤣

Great job. 👍 I remember the Novo kits in the ' 70 when I was a youngster. I picked them up in a department store here in the Netherlands for around € 2 ,- in today' s money. I had the Fokker F7 trimotor, Tupolev bomber and the Bleriot mono plane. They were sold in a plastic bag. And the decals were already crap when they came out of the factory..😂
@@jeroensprangers8468 Thank you 👍 Yeh I built a few Novo kits many years ago...I fancied doing this aircraft as its not produced by many manufactures. Its a shame that none of these aircraft exist any longer.
Today I ordered the Fokker F7 trimotor from Zvezda via internet. It must be the same model as from Frog / Novo. Revell released also some older models from From. Like the FW TA 152
@@jeroensprangers8468 Yes you are right..I just checked Scalemates web site..It shows the product line going back to the old Frog kit
well that answered my only question
Rotors not props, Control tubes not pipes, N numbers not serial numbers You could of put a messy red and white paint scheme on it and call it SILLER BROTHERS or Red and Blue HEAVY LIFT on it. S 54 E that Ericson has is Two wheeled bogies on each aft gear and a top engine fire wall, Built the model as a kid 50 years ago and worked on the real thing 25 years ago
@@HongyaMa I know...I KNOW 😃 My son was an aircraft tech for the British Army...He worked on the Apache and Wildcat. Excellent build Mike. I like the way you point out those areas that needed cleaning up even though they may not be visible and your attention to detail to those parts that needed extra attention. May I ask how do you dilute enamel paints and what was the pressure setting? I was told that if the airbrush is not near to the model during spraying, the paintwork tends to look powdery.
