Soccer games usually flow at a much faster rate… it’s easy to think in slow motion but once you got it in your head to chase the actions of the ball then it’s hard to react to the actions of the player.. you’ll always have at least one super fast, one more knowledgeable (being able to dictate what the opposing team Is doing), one who’s a utility player (not great at any one thing but good at everything) and the remainder are average pawns that are there to do the chasing and setting up on offense… Either way, to me soccer is like boxing or fighting.. you’re making reads, taking faints, moving left to right, waiting for the moment to strike… if more people learned to teach others how to make the reads, what to watch for and study “tape”. There would be less of a concern of having to teach positioning from ball movement

Incorporating the screen/pick is creative, but certainly not worth the effort, in my view. In practice, your players would have to be A LOT more subtle to avoid getting called for impeding. I also wonder if the player setting the screen/pick might be far more useful by quickly moving to space and creating passing lanes instead. It seems to me, there are far more efficient off-the-ball plays than setting a screen/pick.
