Outsides Insides: A Field Recording/Pedalboard Loop Composition
Hello friends!! Nature creates the most amazing sounds. Just stop and listen to where you are right now. What do you hear? People? Animals? Weather? Traffic?? The world provides a soundtrack to our everyday lives, so why not sample it and create our own art with it.
Field recordings can be so fun to capture and integrate into your music! I made this quick vid to show just a small example of what these recordings can sound like in a musical context (well, loosely musical). I recorded a short bit of backyard noises; birds, wind, chimes, and the occasional car. I took this and looped it with the Chase Bliss Blooper. With the Blooper’s modifiers and tons of other pedals, this became a living breathing piece of experimental music. So fun!!
Try recording for yourself, I honestly just use my iPhone and can get some quality sounds with little to no added equipment (this was pure iPhone mic). Explore spaces you frequent and you might find something you’ve never heard, or take a recording of somewhere you’ll never go back. Take a piece with you without taking anything.
Hope you enjoy the sounds! Get out there and record! Thanks for watching! Stay creative, stay weird.

Pedals and Ping Pong - feat. Normac Noises, Chase Bliss, and Pedal Brainz
Переглядів 102Місяць тому
Hello friends!! Today we are gonna get weird(er) with pedals and a ping pong ball. Watch me scramble around like a cat with its toy. I’m using the Normac Noises Kosmic Kalimba, Chase Bliss Mood MkII, and Pedal Brainz Left Brain. Percussive ping pong plinks and plonks are abound from dropping, bouncing, scraping, and tapping on the Kalimba, all captured in glorious stereo on the Mood. The Left B...
3 minutes with the Chase Bliss Habit

Hello friends!! Let’s take the Chase Bliss Habit for a quick spin. I noodled around and loaded it up with some sounds, then let it create its own masterpiece with some scan and random ramping on the stepped speed modifier. I added some heavy saturation from the Montreal Assembly Too Positive and an octave down reverb from the Meris LVX. Hope you enjoy! #chasebliss #habit #chaseblisshabit #theer...

Hello friends!! It’s been a long time coming, but I am so stoked to finally be featuring the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Sunlight on my channel! I’m a huge huge fan of Old Blood and just adore their take on reverb. This should be fun! Sunlight is a dynamic reverb with three modes to bask in. Tape, a tape modulation reverb / Comb, a combination of reverb and delay / Pass, a bandpass filter with a ...
The Wailing Cleanse - by Assembling Quiet

First drone track of 2024 is here! I present to you ‘The Wailing Cleanse’. The eternal war between humans and the cult of fallen leaves rages on. Who will be the victor? This piece is inspired by the Flightless Bird podcast created by David Farrier. The Leafblower episode dives into America’s obsession with blowing leaves around. I take this obsession and mix it with my dark ambient sounds for ...

Hello! Welcome to another episode of The Erratic Pedal Adventures. It’s a new year and a new and (hopefully) improved channel! More face, more cameras, more weird sounds!! Let’s do this! For today’s episode, we are going to be looking at the Meris LVX. A modern masterpiece of delay. I made my own OBNE Dark Light.
Переглядів 2054 місяці тому
I wanted to make a Dark Light using my other Old Blood Noise Endeavors pedals. I have the Screen Violence first in added violence mode. The Dark Star is in the left output and the Sunlight is in the right output. I have the Expression Ramper set to slowly widen the Screen Violence reverb, almost like the spread knob. It’s subtle ok… I can only assume the actual Dark Light is a heck of a lot mor...

This is a really fantastic demo and really shows off the pedal. Subbed
Awesome to hear!! Thank you!!! Genuinely an absolute favorite piece of gear with tons and tons of uses. Found out it’s actually pretty polarizing after making this vid, I guess not everyone loves the far out sounds!
Earth is not a spinning space ball.
Nailed it. Every decent freaky pedal demo must include drums❤🔥❤️
Thank you! Agreed! Love when vids use drums, especially with the weirder pedals. Purpll rips with drums!!
Fantastic!
Thank you!! So very appreciated!!
Great video, awesome sound (interesting and ear catching) with wonderful use of the stereo field! Thank You for sharing your preset's to Patchstorage - I have enjoyed and benefited musically using them!
Awesome!!! So glad that you’ve found some fun and use with the presets!! That makes me so happy! So many amazing ones in the patchstorage. I appreciate all your kind words!!!
What a strange and lovely bliss this is ❤❤❤❤ perfect sounds for mood to process…
Thank you so much!!! I thought so too! Mood does amazing with plonky random sounds so I thought it would be a good pairing. Definitely a favorite pedal. Glad you dug it!!
Great video! Very interesting soundscapes you got going there. I love how everything in this video sounds dark and twisted in a way. I used to have the deluxe version, bit unfortunately I found the latency still too apparent for realtime guitar playing. The thing that bothered me most though, was that when I increased the depth of the vibrato, I noticed that the centerpoint of the vibrato started to shift up in pitch. That meant that all but full wet sounded awfully detuned, and full wet did have the latency issue. Too bad, because I love the character of these devices. Curious; at 5:18 you switch the device to random modulation, but a whole lot more changes in the sound. I really love that bit, and keep coming back to it. I do perceive bitcrushing, tape-stops, reversing… what is it you did right there?? All the best! Keep making these crazy and lovely videos please 👍🏼
Thank you so much!!! Really appreciate everything! I have to agree on the latency and the detuned sound. When I do use it I tend to stick to full wet vibrato, which I think it does amazing! And yeah, that 5:18 mark needed a lot more explanation as to what’s going on. Flipped the loop that was playing backwards and I think pitched a bit. Only the second vid I did, so was still getting my feet under me. Thanks for checking out and liking my weird channel, haha!
Felicitaciones por tan inspirador video para comprender un poco más a Habit, ¡excelente!
So happy you enjoyed it! Habit is so much fun! Thank you!
Cool stuff. They keep making some seriously dope pedals that to my knowledge aren’t being replicated with plugins or hardware. Imagine Radiohead getting a hold of one of these during the Kid A / Amnesiac sessions.
Would be supremely mind blowing to see what Radiohead could do with this gear! I can only hope they use some Chase Bliss in their sound, it just fits so perfect. They really do push every boundary, and I agree I haven’t seen their sound in other pedals or plugs (albeit I don’t use plugins and it might exist without me knowing). Thanks for checking out my sounds!!
@@theerraticpedaladventures3197 check out That Pedal Show’s episode with Ed O’Brien. It’s so good and goes into all his gear. I’ll see if I can add a link.

@michaelsnydermusic oh yeah!! Watched that episode a few times. Ed is a wizard with any gear!! And I love how enamored they are watching him play, so amazing. Gonna have to revisit.
@@theerraticpedaladventures3197 watched it twice too. There’s also a couple videos he did with Dan building a pedal board. Just subscribed btw. Look forward to getting into your content. I was a pedal freak in the late 90’s and still am to this day. Most of my stuff is ambient guitar so this channel should be right up my alley!
this is a nutty pedal. where do u even find these? these seem like either home made stuff or super super boutique haha
Oh it’s so fun! Still my fave fuzz pedal! Actually was a friend that recommended Fuzz Imp. Such a great recommendation! I started with the Shroot II and Drone Gazer, then got the Creature which I fell hard in love with! I highly recommend if you’re looking for a super tweakable and brutal fuzz. Definitely super boutique, single person company.
@@theerraticpedaladventures3197 Worddd I see their website. I'll check it out.150 isnt too bad!
Incredible! Makes me want to go and place an order for one this very moment!!!
Thank you buddy!!! I highly recommend! Then we could play the board game long distance!
badass
Thank you so much!! Such an incredibly underrated pedal!
13:00 lol. I think I'm gonna have to get one of those expression ramper doodads
Do it!!! Such a fun expression device. Works amazing on time based and modulation effects! I got two of their rampers plus two of their sliders.
Serene
10lbs of serene in a 5lb bucket. Thanks my friend!!
Definitevly deserves more views, best video about Enzo Meris so far !
Whoa! Thank you so much!! Super glad you enjoyed the space journey. Enzo really is a special pedal.
Some assembly required. Amazing track, as always!
K’nex for sounds!! Haha! Thank you buddy!!
I could love post-rock and ambient music just because of how hard the titles go :D And also because the music is just great. Both of those are the case here :)
Oh same!!! Tried to fully embrace the mouthful of a title, kinda want to keep it going honestly. Stoked you enjoyed the sounds! Thanks!
This should have more views. Very unique - good job!
Thank you so much!!! If nothing else, I’m keeping myself entertained with videos.🤣 Glad you enjoyed, means a lot!!
IRRITATING VIDEO! 😖🙉
This is an incredible new branding! Please continue to show your face! It makes the videos so much more engaging! 🥰
Oh that’s so good to hear!!! Very much enjoying the direction the channel is going. The fact that it feels more engaging is the biggest compliment I could get! Thank you so much!!!🥹
Love my Sunlight.. I've been ignoring it lately..it's time to delve back into the Sun🤘
It’s always so fun to go back and revisit pedals that you haven’t played for a while. Stoked that my vid inspired that!! Bask in that Sunlight my friend!
It is a favorite of mine. Lately running a harmonic percolator after it... insanity and much fun.
Oooohh that WOULD be fun! I really need to get a harmonic perc, love how they sound. Enjoy that for both of us!!
Incredible demonstrations, warped (and delightful) sounds, and thanks for featuring the Left Brain. Nice to see a collab w/ tha missus! Hand dancing approved!
Thank you so much!!! Sunlight and Left Brain are a match made in pedal heaven! The incredibly slow movement unlocks so many sounds. Nothing is better than creating with the missus, so this was a very special clip! The hand dancing might just have to continue…
More like Erotic Pedal Adventures
Turning on more than just pedals over here.
Thanks for you and other talented "sound sculpters" for loading these up on patchstorage for the community. I've been enjoying "Dr Octula 2" in particular.
Oh this is the best thing to hear!! Thank you for downloading and enjoying my creation!! Means so much!!
Excellent..puts me in mind of rafael anton irissari, and taylor deupree..
I wasn’t familiar with either of these artists. Gave a quick listen and really liked what I heard. Honored to have been thought of!! Thanks!
@@theerraticpedaladventures3197 you are definitely on a good path when those names get conjured up..also Lawrence English and Tim Hecker…lol..there’s a whole other world waiting down those dark rainy steets
Awesome demo!
Thanks! Such an awesome pedal!
So glad to have found you..excellent vid, my wheelhouse is the weirdness..love it so…
Welcome home!!! Love weird sounds and the pedals that help make them. This LVX wildness was the perfect way to start the year of videos!
And thank you so so much!!!
Lovely sounds, always a delight to hear what weirdness you can come up with :D
Super appreciate that! The exploration of the weird will champion ahead!!
Help, Current Status: Lost in a Wormhole of Self-Oscillation! Seriously fantastic overview of the LVX. Thanks for featuring the @pedalbrainz Left Brain!
Sending rescue vessel with snacks, horror movies, and pedals! Y’know, the essentials. Thank you so much!!! Left Brain was super fun to pair with LVX. A match made in expression heaven!
Such creativity there... So amazing ! So cool ! I am praying everyday that Meris is in the process of creating the Enzo X.
Thank you thank you!!!! Was such a fun vid to make! And oh my gosh, I couldn’t even imagine how cool an EnzoX would be!!!! I would be all over that so quick!
Love this! And I do like seeing the shot of you playing as it adds context to the creation of the soundscape!
Thank you!!! It was a super fun to make, just did a one-and-done shot, glad my playing was at least decent🤣 Gonna use the two shot setup going forward, I dig it! Just have to get used to playing on camera…😬
Very hip pedal
Such a wonderful device! I recently upgraded to the MKII and holy cow it’s like a whole new beast! MOOD in any iteration is an amazing pedal.
I see this becoming my new favourite pedal channel. Great work!
I love that for both of us! Genuinely amazing to hear, thank you so much!!
@theerraticpedaladventures3197 keep it up! 👍
What’s amazing about this video is that it’s playful, fun, informative, and methodical all at the same time. I have Habit, and this made sense of exploring it and creating sounds I love. 🖖🏻
This is the most amazing feedback! Thank you so much!! With a company like Chase Bliss and a pedal like Habit, fun and playful is first and foremost. Super appreciate these kind words and stoked that you love Habit as much as I do, such a phenomenally creative device.
Let me add one more fun bit of feedback - - the video was so good at being fun yet methodical that I took my Chase bliss faves pedal and made a usable preset based on each modifier. I’m prepping for a long form music project, and this video helped me explore habit in a way where I can see a lot of ways to use it to compose for that project. I can’t thank you enough!
@Scapeghost whoa!!! This is the best feedback EVER! So honored that my vid helped inspire you to create those presets and use Habit for your project, that is far beyond what I expected these videos to do. Genuinely thank you for this message! Gives me so much energy for more videos! I hope you have a blast on your project, let me know when it’s done, would love to check it out!
Your channel deserve more followers, thx for the video
Oh thank you so much!!! That’s amazing to hear and I totally agree, haha. Slowly but surely!
Great demonstration showing the power and versatility of thelis controller!
Thank you so much!! Always appreciate your support! It’s such a fun controller for tons of pedals, great for quick sound opportunities.
Oh man this thing looks wild!
Truly!! It’s a blast and cool that it works with so much gear.
This controller is seriously fun! Thanks everyone for making this a great year for The Erratic Pedal Adventures! What a great vid to end the year with!
Brooo, this video is insane! Thanks \m/
Oh hell yeah!! Thank you! Creature is wild and my fav fuzz ever! It brings destruction.
Ordered one. Contemplating selling my Dirty Robot now though I'd like to hear how the two fornicate 1st haha.
This isn't available anymore in their page. So sad, it's a good one.
Oh I know right?! Sad that some pedals got discontinued recently. So glad to have gotten this before it’s no more! If you haven’t already, check out the Creature from FuzzImp, still my favorite fuzz ever!!
What have we learned? - Earth peoples still think they can travel in space - Sometimes, spaceships make great sounds - This dang astronaut was a dang FRAUDUS!!! - If you go to space, work on your Enzo first, don't be a dringus. Be prepared.
And knowing is half the battle!!
Can you work your magic on the Old Blood Noise Endeavors 'Beam Splitter'
Oh I would love to cause some trereo destruction!!! Looks so killer! Hopefully one day.
Which ver of the pedal is this?
It’s the V2 with the soft switch and expression control. Best pedal ever! Sad to hear it is being discontinued, but probably something even better coming.
I picked one up as soon as I heard the sound at 2:00 and I absolutely love it
@wilsonkeeler5977 yes!!!! The full wet mix is what sold me on the Dark Star too. I honestly never really use it any other way. Such a beautiful pad or faux strings sound.
Very Cool. I like the split screen view too.
Thank you!! Me too! I think it’s pretty inviting.🤘🏻
thanks for the video, even though it's not 'literal' as you sometime showcase a feature and write about another one. It's as confusing as the overwhelming possibilities offered by this pedal! :)
Yeah, this one has tons to go over. I tried to showcase the sounds more than writing about it, so things might not match up to what words are on the screen. Probably why I’m moving towards more of just sound examples versus in depth control details. Thanks nonetheless for watching!!!🤘🏻
@chasebliss this artist just sold one magicbox Habit. This is the best video I saw about Habit, by far. And I saw lots of them and still resisted. It cannot be resisted after watching this one. Really, amazing work!!
Whoa!!!! Thank you so much!!! That’s wild to hear considering how many amazing vids on Habit are out there. It genuinely is a box of magic and I really hope you jive with it as much as I do!! Chase Bliss never disappoints!!!🤘🏻💛
Wow. Is this on the spot composition?
Thank you!! Basically a very quickly thrown together composition. Took about 5 or so minutes prior to record the loops into the Blooper and Habit. Other than that, it’s all just playing the pedals live. I do love catching things in the moment!
Rad sounds! I just got a Screen Violence and I love it.
Thank you!!! It is such a great pedal! Makes everything sound better to me, and that stereo spread is beautiful. Glad you’re digging it too!
