Dodge Caravan Fix- Fogging Up issue/Fresh Air/Blend Air Actuator Pt. 1
Attempting to fix my 2009 Dodge Caravan issues. Vehicle was fogging up very badly, even in defrost mode. Found a few things that will hopefully help some others. First Video I explain the part and how it works and how mine failed. following videos are in the car showing some specifics.

MAGLITE repair Hack! Switch Fix
Переглядів 36 тис.5 років тому
Hack for a tool to remove newer maglite switches
I have the middle mag...same color too lol Older bulb style and I bought led recently and it still doesn't come on It will not work!!! New batteries and bulb and it will not come on!! Plz help
Yes, thank you, that did help.
But you said you were going out to the van to show us how you took it out. Guess not?
Don't take your dash apart. I changed mine out in maybe 5 minutes from beginning to end. Remove the blower motor from passenger door area, reach up there and squeeze the blend door and you can get it out through the motor opening. The replacement went right in the same way. Put the right side upward first. Might help to take the actuator off prior, but not needed
@@ryanwesterlink6847 Might I ask you to (suggest to you) that you make a short video showing that since it is only 5 minutes. Sounds like you would help a ton of people. I now don't know if I want to fix mine if a new one is just going to have the actuator do a 360 and break the new one. But, yeah, if you could do a video and post to this comment so I could see it, I would super appreciate it.
@@shembop pull the fan out, and the filter then pull the door through the same opening for the fan motor
@@ryanwesterlink6847thanks
@@ryanwesterlink6847I’m worried the new parts will self destruct too if the hvac controller tells the actuator to rotate more than required. That’s the part I was hoping to see figured out.
Any sign of the second video I have this exact problem. Thanks.
Any sign of the second video I have this exact problem. Thanks.
How did you remove or get to the unit? Thanks
I had an old Maglite that was amazing and I lost it at some point and have no idea what happened to it. I have a newer LED model and it's horrible. You can hear the batteries shaking around inside and it will randomly turn off. It's also nowhere near as bright as a small, cheapo, rechargeable flashlight I got for Christmas or something. Was hoping to find a fix but I don't think I want anything to do with Maglite anymore.
Nice thanks
You ended my frustrations and for that I thank you! Every other video I watched kept saying 2mm hex and I simply thought that the bolt was stripped. As soon as you said torx, I ran to get my Xbox controller tool and wouldn’t you know, I got the switch loose, popped the corroded batteries out and have a working flashlight again!! Thank you so very much kind sir!!
Maybe one day you could actually show us how it comes apart?
How you got the ring out.. that's the mainthing though..
This is what I just discovered my 2010 Chrysler Town & Country has. And yeah you have to remove this whole unit so hopefully just change in the outside filter is going to be enough to take care of my AC problem that I have presently.
What actually problem were you having, my air output flow is like 60%
Yeah I am having the problem getting the switch out but I thought it was a Allen wrench, I will try the size 8 torx screw driver
Danke 👍
I have old non led MAG-LITE and I have to repair switch. Will Allen Key 5/64 be able to unscrew the screw?
No hay informacion en español??
Qué necesita saber?
Thank you for posting this. Our van was fogging badly an the flap was stuck in the re-circulation position. I didn't care about the re-circ mode so I got the lower glove box door hanging down and cut the plastic screen on 3 sides and put my hand in and pulled the door back into the fresh air position and put a couple screws through the plastic housing to keep the door from moving. Very simple solution to a potentially dangerous problem!
Did it work well after alll I am having the same issue
I did exactly as you said. Worked great! I have never used the re-circ system on any car I have owned so I won't miss it. Took less than 5 minutes.
Muy pendejo tu video
What the fuck! It’s a Nonsense video!
Back in the 90's I bought a nice set of torx screwdrivers. Modlar design [one handle with long interchangeable bits] because... so many small appliances use torx. Drills, vacuums, you name it. I think it was made by Wera, and man that comes in handy. When you need it, you need it.
I would like to see your second video. I cannot seem to find it. I wanted to know if you have rectified your HVAC calibration problem on your blend door activator. I'm having this exact same problem
Same thing here as well. Replaced the motor because of the machine gun popping sound and it snapped of the spline he mentions and now it’s always humid in the van and I cannot find the flap part number.
Yea, I just want to hear this guy talk to himself.
For older model Maglites, the Allen Key needed is 5/64. For newer, LED models, it is a Torx 8 (T-8). I found that my Craftsman T-8 was a tight squeeze, but did not need to be thinned out on a grinder. Thanks for the video!!
Thanx a million, compared to many you clearly explained what i needed to know and a very handy tip included. Much respect.
Be:
I was wondering why the allen wrenches weren't fitting....
Humming ji it lol u
I did the same. The T8 screwdriver had to be shortened as well, because the tip wasn't fat enough.
What did you used to get the C Clip out?
This was a while ago but I believe a long right angle needle nose plier. It was from harbor freight. Spoiler alert the new parts in old didn't work.
