The Kone up escalator is from around the late 90's and the O&K escalator is from around the 70s or 80s.

Accidents waiting to happen

Idk if this lift is still here, because i went to cribbs yesterday and sports direct seemed to have 2 stannah lifts, one at the front going from 0, 1 and another lift going right from the enterance that goes from 0, 1, 2, and both 2 doors seemed to work, random choice for a retail park sports direct (near next home)

Unfortunately this store will be closing down sometime in the future. M&S will move into the ex Debenhams near the bus station. A real shame these will be lost, I’ll make sure to have one more ride at least before the closure… The Dundee store also closed a couple of months ago which had 4x 1995 O&Ks like this in gold. Luckily I got to that one in time too but all their good stores seem to be closing and all the new stores seem to be downsized and using cheap escalators 😕

Hi - just noticed this video (I’ve been here recently and uploaded a night ride on these and some others here). 😀 Actually I don’t think these are the longest in Liverpool though - I believe those are hidden well beneath the ground at Lime Street station and are original 1970s Otis’s. I’ve uploaded those too so feel free to check them out (it’s the video with 4x between the Wirral line and underground ticket hall). 👍

Looks like a Lodige lift. Had the same one in our Middleton branch. Always broke and because Wilko were going under they never fixed them. Customers were always complaining 😂

Went in this ASDA a few months ago with a colleague but we used the stairs to go up to the first floor.

There’s a new Sports Direct in Cardiff which is located in the queen street. It has 4 escalators and it also has 3 floors.

Was this store originally a Tesco HomePlus? They had a number of those stores (which were non- food stores) around the UK that had these travelators, but then Tesco dropped the format and closed all of these stores. If it was, B&M must have moved in after… Check out some of my videos for more escalators and travelators. 😄
