Its been ages since I've been to Galveston I used to eat a Guido's nit sure they are still in business
Honestly no offense of course, these are mostly all crappy tourist trap places listed. La kings is great for treats of course, but you’ve yet to try actual local restaurants you can’t find anywhere else. Like for instance for your next vacation, try Henry’s Mexican on 29th and broadway for their literally one of a kind breakfast burritos. Try the surprise burrito. Can’t beat it! Make sure you eat it with their homemade hot sauce! Another is Gumbo diner on seawall. Fabulous shrimp po boys!
The video starts with the least used entry to the island; from the west side. Take Hwy 288 south from Houston until you hit the coast and turn left. The reporter must not be from Texas; I promise that our Tex-Mex is NOT Mexican food (it's much better!). However... be suspicious of any Tex-Mex place that serves a real salad; we judge them by their salsa and chips.
Guess you are not a health nut.
SOOOO PROUD OF YOU VICKKKIIIII!!!!!
THANK YOUUUUU😭😭😭
This intro is so relatable 😂
I never had reading and writing issues but when I read when I'm done I don't remember or understand anything. All my life
Galveston is simply a tourist trap. Brown water and sand. Everything is way overpriced.
Absolutely. Only truly hidden gem local restaurants are affordable and truly delicious
If you think and act like a tourist then Im sure it sucks.I look for off the beaten path and as for the water color, its just from the mississippi.I happen to love so much about Galveston...yeah things cost money but that island has had its share of catastophe so its nice to see it thrive for the most part. The history alone is worth goin for!! If you dont know and appreciate the island in all its historic and roughness then of course you just wont see the beauty of the entire beautiful energy of Galveston island. Its a place like no other.
Galveston and it's beaches are a nice place. People love to take a big dump on Galveston and it's beaches, i.e., they're nasty, dirty, don't compare to California, Hawaii, Florida, etc, etc...or obviously not as pretty and cool as South Padre Island, but it's not that bad. Galveston beaches are not top tier, but they are not as shitty as people make them out to be. Galveston is a beautiful historical town, and the beaches are OK, nice enough. The breeze makes it cool, even in the summer months, much cooler than the rest of Texas.
Beno’s is our first stop for dinner ! Been going there for over 30 years! Never disappoints! Nice amazing dinner Rudy and Pacos! Black Pearl! StingArey on Boliver and you get to ride the Ferry over!
11/10
Frankly, Canada Dry would be the best sponsor 😂

Can dyslexia get worse over time or stress?
I’d mostly say it can get better as you learn to deal with it. However, under stress and pressure it does seem to get worse, because your brain can’t focus as well
@@VickiCoolidge Thanks Vicki, I hadn't realized before watching your video that you've got a video diary type platform for your UA-cam channel. I watched some of the videos you have on the Biblical scripture... I'm a Youth ministry director and I really found your video diaries interesting.
Yes and no. Dyslexia is not something that changes greatly over time. Ie it is not something that you grow out of nor is it something that gets worse with age. It does however have stressors that can make tasks more difficult. For instance, if you are reading for a long period of time your accuracy can decrease. Same for if you are stressed. Coping mechanisms can help with accomplishing tasks but they do not "get rid" of the underlying differences. I would recommend looking into the Davis Method for more information.
Missed Katie’s, the only boat to table restaurant in Galveston
Does it ever happen to you? Best greetings from Mérida! :)
Haha, only a few times🤣
Shrimp n Stuff is the best hidden spot on the Island , Also try The Spot on the Sea Wall Good Drinks and Good Food
Negative. Best po boy place is gumbo diner hands down. Shrimp n stuff has gone way downhill over the years
@@BlueLineChop Best Po Boy is the one made at home ..Saves money to !
@@MyJason444 eh. Sometimes the home ones just don’t satisfy the craving of the taste you can get somewhere you love
@@BlueLineChopHa! Last time I was in Galveston we went into the gumbo diner and I was so mad at how gross it was and overpriced that I complained big time! A bowl of watery NON AUTHENTIC GUMBO that was flavorless and watery...cost a fortune too.On top of that they serve instant crappy tea! No thanks! Shrimp n stuff is a gem and go to for us.We go to the Ave O location. The garden room area is nice and its my favorite little hidden place on the island just about. The gumbo diner says its where the locals go...I call b.s! Im a cook and let me tell ya it was BAD!!! Total waste of money.I hate the place.🤢😡
Love shrimp n stuff!
Thank you! This was helpful 😌
now for part 2: the advantages of dyslexia. -all y'all that just figured out that your brain has difficulties in "communication", please now begin to realize those mental processes at which your brain excels. this is where your salvation can begin. you're special.
Wow I didn’t know that I’m dyslexic up till today . I’m 44 , Im remembering everything now and I thought something was wrong with me my hole life, some parts of the world don’t even know what dyslexic mean or exist . Thank you for this video. Life gos on ✌️😁
Check out Made by Dyslexia and Dyslexic Thinking. Dyslexic Thinking had been added to LinkedIn Business as a positive skill. And Dyslexic Thinking has also been added to an online Dictionary. I love being different. Own it. Thanks to my Dyslexic mind I was able to turn my daughter (Dyslexic) into a Bookworm using Kindness, Art and Music, making reading fun, not stressful! This is when State Education failed to teach her to read, write and spell (UK). We are Problem Solvers. 😊👍♥️
Darlenes Shrimp Shack is awsome! Its a food truck located on 61st street that has plenty of outdoor tables with great views.
Goin this October and will try it...heard alot about it.
Where do people get tested? It costs thousands of dollars and med ins doesn’t cover it. A PA at neurologist office made a “diagnosis” of dyslexia but can’t pinpoint what specific areas are involved….. just says to use a ruler to read and take more time on tests.
Unfortunately, it can get expensive. I paid around $600 for my test. If you’re 18 or under, and in high school (or younger) you can get free testing through the public school system. I got tested by them but they misdiagnosed me, and I had to pay for it in college
The diagnostic practices/educational supports for dyslexia are atrocious. There is a lot of ambiguity around terminology and a lot of circular reasoning of the "poetry is written by poets and poets write poetry" variety. A lot of the research on dyslexia was done by non-dyslexics with the mindset of "fixing" the "problem" so with no clear biological basis all the diagnostic criteria are derived from the perceived deficits. The DSM5 has the diagnostic criteria but you are honestly better off looking at different dyslexic associations and coming up with your own coping mechanisms instead of relying on the education systems. I recommend The Davis Method as it was developed by an actual dyslexic with an eye for a more holistic cognitive approach. Try searching for "Dyslexia the gift" by Ronald Dell Davis. He has written several books and his website has a lot of information that you can listen to for free.
@@freshoffthehook904 thank you!
@@donnaarnold5768 You are welcome. My school system did not recognize dyslexia as a disability until 2017 one year after I graduated HS. I got a 35 on the reading portion of the SAT purely with self taught coping strategies. Dyslexic thinking properly adapted can make extraordinary readers and once we figure out how to leverage it our reading comprehension tends to skyrocket. I would also recommend looking up the history dyslexia and reading. Personal reading as a social construct and the effect widespread literally had on society is not talked about enough. The concept of public education, public libraries, and even silent reading are all way newer inventions than people tend to think and all were heavily influenced by the world wars. Best of luck for the new year.
Just watched your video, you need to make more. Great job!
Thanks so much!
I am also facing 😅
I'm dyslexic. Everyone has their challenges and I 'm more powerfull because of it.
I left school at the age of 15 without the ability to read right. When I was 42 I had a proper assessment and with help from the local college I started to read and write. I use electronic aids laptop and a scanner help me with my job which reads documents for me and writes thank you very much Nigel
