I still have this car in maroon. It handles like a dream, hugs curves like no other car and takes off like a rocket still!! Love everything about it except the stereo system!! All my maximums stereo systems quit well before 100,000 miles. The rest of the car however just keeps on keeping on!!

I'm just curious, who else has a 97 Kia sephia with over half a million miles. Mine is the 5 speed manual transmission and the BP 1.8 engine and I still drive it till this day in November 2024. I'm fixing to change the oil again soon, but I'm actually well on my way to a million miles. A well made car indeed. A Honda or Toyota literally are the only things better as that Mazda BP engine in my 97 sephia is actually still healthy. Still the original engine and the odometer stopped counting more than 300,000 miles ago I still drive it till this day, and I did a compression test last year finding all 4 cylinders within 3 psi. My secret isn't that much of a secret. I use good oil, and I change it every 3 to 5 thousand miles. I use mobile 1 full synthetic high milage 10W-40 oil with a fram 6607 filter. It takes about 4 quarts (1 USA gallon) of oil including the filter.

I have the 97 sephia manufactured in 96, and I still drive it till this day in 2024. Sure the dash is falling apart and its got a few electrical gremlins, but it's almost 30 years old with literally over half a million miles, and yes I said miles not kilometers. Well over 500,000 miles and still running till this day. I'm actually going to be changing the oil and inspecting everything soon
