Gus takes charge loading some calves this morning to work in barn later in the day. Anna and Tater pitched in too but time got the best of us and the battery. Hopefully we can get better footage next time.

What rods are you using
6010
you need a suitcase feeder! New to your channel, not sure what you're running for an engine drive. I've pushed a fair bit of wire through an LN25 off a Ranger 250,a Bobcat 250 and now a Pipepro400. Wire- shortarc, selfshielded or dualshield is so much faster than our favorite standby!
Using Bobcat 225. It would make things faster without a doubt.
@@reyerfarms8119I got a miller 12vs feeder I’ll sell you cheap. I’ve ran it off a bobcat
I do love that fit up! What I would have done! Turning sh!t into sugar!
How's it going?

Fucken loved this video! Reminded me of many many good solid ass people i met along the way ...took me to a different time....thank you. God bless you n yours.
How long did it take from start to finish
I think it was about 4 hours.
6011? Looks nice!
Yes. 6011 Hobart brand. Thank ya.
I bet if you was one of them fancy nassa welduhrs you would be immune and impervious to all mortal encumbrances such as bleeding in a field doing actual work lol. What a tool.
😂yup! The humanity of it all!
the AC welding machines are the best for rusty or dirty metal I use them every time i have to weld rusty metal nice job and the most lmportant is what you said are we going to get paid YES
On another note,,,,,,I can’t tell you what amp to set the machine. 1975 I was taught how to weld on a machine with no indicator arrow. Crank crank crank that outta do it ,,,,,,oops 1 crank down. I learned sight sound and feel. I passed every welding test steel aluminum stainless steel I took. E-Ray got me in 1977 thought I knew everything about welding I was your man. E-Ray a spot of 3 ft busted,,,,,,,gouged it out,,,,,,E-Ray busted,,,,,old man said let me watch you run that 7018 vertical,,,,,,why you got that rod pointed upwards cause it’s a vertical no weld it as if it is flat but it’s a vertical weld it like it’s flat Bingo passed X-Ray then I could continue to weld the pressurized vessel we were fabricating. That X-Ray told me I needed to learn how to weld and learn how to do it right! I wasn’t cocky from that day forward!
I love how you scratch your flux off! To me that is in the zone! I hate a guy who lays a weld down with a 7018 then grab a hammer and chisel bang bag bang cuss cuss cuss! If you learn how to use a 7018 correctly you won’t be cussing all day! I’m like you pay attention to how it wets in proper distance from puddle to rod you will wind up with a beautiful 7018 pass with no undercut! Great video brother. AWS Certified 1976 retired 1999
Yessir… ain’t no sense in making things harder than they already are!
Stay safe out there don't say nothing on fire
Tighten up them weaves goddamn
What kind of rod and amperage on those uphills? I find I always dig material and have undercut and sometimes even still blow through material
I was using Lincoln’s 1/8” 6010 and 3/32” 7018. My experience is every machine is different and then even the leads size and length come in to play when setting heat. Different brand rods also can dictate things. I was using Miller 225 Bobcat course setting 50-150 and the fine around 4. I typically stay in that course range so I can just turn up fine control to run 1/8” 7018 or 5/32” 6010. I will set a machine with 6010 if can- by having amps low enough it will stick on cold steel if pressure is applied but it will not stick if I push into weld puddle. I hope that makes sense. When welding vertically I am focusing above the puddle and at sides. I find that helps me be in control of what is happening. I am working on video of the light bulb moment when I was learning to weld vertical up. Hope to have it ready soon. Thanks!
@@reyerfarms8119thanks looking forward to it. Subscribed as well 👍🏼
One thing that helped me when I was struggling to weld 7018 vertical-up was an old guy who said 'keep your ropes tight'.
👍
Nice welding
Good job bud I use some acetone as a final cleaning sometime
There is nothing wrong with a weave it just is prone to center cracking because of the steel growing grain. I only see it on weaves passes that are huge like 2.5 or 3 inches wide lol but I weave all the time to fill on trailers and crap like that I put stringers on everything also just depends where it is on cattle pipes I weave on structures or lifting eyes I use stringers both hold I like the way weaves flatten out. Good work brother
That’s right! I appreciate it.
Done
Very cool! Can tell you been at it a while.
You should just learn to code
I did -aws d1.1 and api 1104 but I decided not to have a welding inspector present for this repair. 😂
Equal opportunity offender 😂😂
it's a win - win - win. Because you not only saved time, have a happy customer but you also pissed off some keyboard warrior
It’s the gift, that keeps giving!🤣 thank ya!
How does a 5P+ differ than a standard 6010?
The 5P+ will burn off more square and is more stable of an arc in my opinion.
THE 5p+ weld strength is 83000 psi.
Subscribed just for the humor. Nice repair too!
"Welder tryouts" 😂 I'm pretty sure i found the wire happy captain of that team down here in Florida. I follow him around all over town, fixing his broken welds.
Yeah, buddy! Here’s to cash flow🍻
Nice work young man!
Thank ya!
Sure wish you would make more videos!
Thank you for the information. I will follow up when I find some pasture. More VIDEOS please. Hope all is going well..😀
These cattle are so special. Very gentle. Do you know if there are any in Arkansas?
Thank you- I am very fond of them! I see 3 breeders in Ak listed on the Pineywoods Cattle Registered Breeders Association website. Feel free to contact us anytime if we can help. www.reyerfarms.com www.pcrba.org
Jody if you dont mind and get the time show some videos of different strains you have.
Thank You!
I will try and get one going.
I think he will be a Hickman. Jess would know for sure.
Jody what was that white red head at the 1:00 point looking at you? like it's markings.
