@@luckynaturerelaxationin8k Sony fx9

Spectacular as always mate.
So slick, dude!
Great to see NZ Motorsport stuff looking so good!
I'm so excited. My set is finally getting serviced by Richard. Beautiful imagery.
Joe- Hi, how stunning job~ ;)
Great video! I just watched the film Prospect that used these lenses as well. Truly an amazing film visually.
what lenses did you use to shoot these shots? they're so lovely
Leica R 35mm Summicron
so much goodness.
Spectacular work as always Joe.
the sun flares at the end were a nice touch, and absolutely on brand with the livery. well played.
Dude this is so beautiful....
How much does this set take you back? Thanks!
Around £12k
@@joelawryDOP Wow! Do you know how much the 58mm would cost on its own?
@@GregoryEsman only sold as a set I believe.
@@joelawryDOP Thanks Joe
The quality is honestly beautiful
Did you make the rear 2x oval inserts by yourself? Otherwise where did you source them from? They really take the look of these lenses to another level!
No, theyre a custom item that comes as an accessory to this lens set. They can be added or removed from the lens by removing the rear lens element and inserting the oval disk behind the iris.
What T Stop were these shot at? Curious because I don't see the buldge in the middle. Guessing T4 or so?
Buldge? With the 2x ovals in the rear from memory the lens becomes around t3.2. But due to the height of the ovals bokeh characteristics are similar to t2. Only transmission is really effected.
@@joelawryDOP normally when you're wide open you get the buldge in the middle (the swirly stuff) but here there was not any so I was curious what stop these tests were shot at. They're really nice and doesn't exhibit what I normally find hence the thought it was around f4 etc. What was your shooting stop? Wide open?
@@AshTailor along with needing to be wide open, my experience with the helios swirl is that its only really present when focus is in the 5-7ft range and the BG is 12-15 away. Closer focus and it goes away and the same with longer. There's a definite sweet spot. (My numbers are just a guess off top of my head) Yes I only shoot with these lenses wide open when bokeh inserts are in the lens otherwise you lose the effect.
@@joelawryDOP Joe. Thanks for the info dude. Your video was the first time someone has showcased them in a nice way. The running shots. Did you use a rickshaw or was the whole thing a lot more frugal?
@@AshTailor Black arm and Ronin 2 for anything moving. Going back to our earlier conversation. You can definitely see the swirl on the 58mm running shots through the trees, I think the oval inserts just make it a bit less noticable due to the oval bokeh.
How are you liking the fx9 ? Beautiful footage btw !
Great work !
What an awesome video you two created! I thought I was watching NatGeo! I just had to subscribe and even ring the notification bell! Congrats on winning the competition! Hope to see more of your works 😁
Congratulations, amazing footage and really good story. Also the Voice narrating is really good.

Wow. That’s super cool man. How did you shoot that , can you please explain. Voice over, music and shots everything blended well to make it epic

Beautiful footage.
Fabulously gruesome - I thought my spider was pretty cool but your footage of the praying mantis is sooooo good. Love the VO too. I even learned something!
This is awesome!
Good job man!
Very nice. Did you post stabilise all footage in catalyst?
No, I just used a tripod.
oh if you mean the first few shots - no, those are handheld with the IS on the lens turned on. I also shot everything 50p and slowed some stuff down.
