Presenters:
Helen Abrahams is a long time Kurilpa resident and volunteer with local community group Kurilpa Futures. Helen has experience working as, and coordinating, hundreds of spontaneous flood volunteers during the 2011 and 2022 floods. Helen's depth of knowledge and connection to the community here in Kurilpa is informed by her years as a local Councillor from 2008 to 2016. She is a dedicated community leader and has a strong history of engaging people on a range of local issues.
Christine Kumnick is a registered psychologist, based in Brisbane, Queensland, and currently works as a Senior Mental Health Clinician for the Metro South Mental Health Disaster Recovery team. Christine has worked within Qld Health for the last decade in various mental health teams including recovery and resilience teams, older persons mental health and rehabilitation services. She was previously employed as a psychologist in corrective services for five years, and prior to this as a Registered Nurse. Christine is passionate about working in disaster recovery and strives to keep learning through life. She has developed and delivered workshops on various topics to assist with developing resilience in individuals and communities, and provides trauma informed care to the people she supports.
Stephanie Outridge Field is a part of the multidisciplinary team that is the Disaster Flood Team with Metro South and brings art therapy options for nonverbal, visual, and experiential engagement with both groups and individuals. Stephanie has longterm commitment and experience in working with community, art and education as a practitioner, facilitator, and mentor. Currently Stephanie is finalising study in Art Therapy and works with various creative art processes and media to support mental health.
Facilitator: Paula Hardie is a member of Resilient Kurilpa and volunteer for the West End Community Association. She is a futures-focused strategic designer and PhD candidate at Griffith University exploring community-led service adaptations to the climate crisis.
