HOW TO GET INTO CHARACTER | FOOLPROOF FIRST STEP
Переглядів 7 тис.8 років тому
What is your first step when thinking about how to get into character? *Hint* Don't forget your script! So often, actors will want to jump straight into the more creative, intangible parts of the character development process. They’ll head right for “exciting stuff” like chakras or emotional recall or rasaboxes. However, before you begin to work on how to get into character, you need to start s...

Thank you so much, I am still a student and my french teacher loves giving me very longs poems to learn quite often, and none of the methods of memorization worked, but now that I tried yours it's actually way more easier, I think I'll remember this trick for my whole life <3

Eurydice is a STRANGE show, but fun. Anyone in Iowa should appreciate it, as the directions given near the end are to an actual Iowa location. We google mapped it. Lauren, thanks for the suggestions! I will try this!

I've seen this trick and used it myself. It does help but for me it only does so much. I'm in my 50s and just don't have that brain elasticity like I used to.

I learned this technique 20 years ago from a college friend while scrambling to memorize Iago in Othello and wasn’t aware other people knew it. Where’d you first learn it or did you’d develop it independently?

This is nuts. Just memorized one of my longest lines in less than 5 minutes. My stress level for memorizing my lines for an upcoming play just dropped by like 90% - I cannot thank you enough for sharing this transformative technique. I am just so glad that this is the first UA-cam video that popped up when I searched for how to memorize lines...

This method is great, I’ll totally be combining this with my current one. what i do, is I slowly remember where the liens are on my script page, and based off of which line is in which place I remember what i’m supposed to say. it seems hard, but this helped me to remember the ORDER of my lines, not the lines themselves. This combined with other actors lines is amazing for having more natural scenes.

What about the retention? It have been doing this and it is working amazingly except hours after it’s almost all gone. You don’t mention about recall and how much this must play a role so to speak?
