I've seen this trick and used it myself. It does help but for me it only does so much. I'm in my 50s and just don't have that brain elasticity like I used to.

I learned this technique 20 years ago from a college friend while scrambling to memorize Iago in Othello and wasn’t aware other people knew it. Where’d you first learn it or did you’d develop it independently?

This is nuts. Just memorized one of my longest lines in less than 5 minutes. My stress level for memorizing my lines for an upcoming play just dropped by like 90% - I cannot thank you enough for sharing this transformative technique. This is NOTHING new. The memorization concept was first introduced 40 years ago. The tutorial was in a cassette format.

I tried this with something else yesterday. Didn't really help. How you memorized that bizarre sentence I do not know.

This method is great, I’ll totally be combining this with my current one. what i do, is I slowly remember where the liens are on my script page, and based off of which line is in which place I remember what i’m supposed to say. it seems hard, but this helped me to remember the ORDER of my lines, not the lines themselves. This combined with other actors lines is amazing for having more natural scenes.

What about the retention? It have been doing this and it is working amazingly except hours after it’s almost all gone. You don’t mention about recall and how much this must play a role so to speak?
