Fun little trip this one. Flew over to Kemble for a quick coffee and to watch a 747 arrive at ASO for scrap. Getting in to the pattern was tricky. A last minute landing strip change and ambient noise made for a challenge! Great flying conditions though, and brilliant to see Kemble from the sky again after a few years away.
Biggest takeway from this lesson is importance of setting yourself up before important tasks, to reduce task saturation. I had the ambient noise level in my head piece set to max. Normally this doesnt cause a problem for me as radio frequency Im on is quite. However at Kemble, its a different story! Very busy frequency, and people shouting unfamiliar radio comms into your headset at MAX volume as you're trying to perfect your flair is not conducive to a solid landing.. hence the bounce!
