Can you dis-assemble the tablet and measure the voltage of the battery? Red wire of the battery is positive, black wire is negative, the voltage is about 3.7V.

Hello, you are talking about rubber cover of the scanner, right? I guess it become hard after a few years, there is gap between the front housing and the rubber cover, insert a plastic card into the gap, then you can remove it.

I finally got it off, there is not much play in the cover as it seems to be a hard plastic and it took a while to finegle it off. The digitizer model I have is F-WGJ10165-V3, does this have to be replaced with this model or is there an updated model? I am seeing models ending with V4 and V5, could those be used?
