Jonesville FL Custom Home Framing Walk-Through
Переглядів 36114 днів тому
Doing a framing walk through on the custom home I’m building in Lakota Subdivision in Jonesville, FL. I discuss many of the items to look for at this stage in construction. For more information visit: www.amiracustomhomes.com
Great attention to detail on the roof. Do you do most of your houses in the High Springs, Florida area?
Yes most of them are in the surrounding area! Mainly in Alachua, High Springs, Gainesville, Newberry, Trenton, etc.
I saw this house when my wife and I were looking at land in Jonesville. We really liked all the different custom homes in this neighborhood.
Oh yea absolutely it’s a beautiful subdivision and still close to gainesville!
Those were some nice drone shots!
I appreciate that! 🙌
3 days is slow
Retired Carpenter here. Back when I did framing, the framing for the doos & windows was done before the walls was tilted up.
Yep, nothing wrong with that. Multiple ways to do it 👍
How many men in your framing crew? Good looking work
I appreciate it 👍 usually about 5
Do the trusses only take you a day to install?
Yessir. For one this size the crane will be on site for about half the day and then the rest of the day will be straightening the trusses and running fascia board
Wow! And that generic brand meets Florida product approval?
Yes it’s what’s installed on ‘most’ houses in our area
Which one do you recommend for homeowners?
All depends on the style of the home and if there are any site conditions that impact which type would work best! I do both all the time, depending on homeowner preference 👍
Are you hurricane proofing all of your custom homes you build? Or is this an upgrade?
This is all standard on the houses I build and in general a lot of this is going to be required by Florida building code 👍
Great content! What are some other ways you can build an energy efficient house?
Some good things for Florida specifically would be to upgrade your AC to a higher SEER rating and to upgrade your attic insulation to a higher R-Value!
Wood frame is the way to go if you’re not on the coast!
Yessir, if you’re on the coast block is worth looking into for the extra strength, but if you’re not on the coast, the extra insulation value from 2x6 is 👌
@@coreyamira_customhomes I hear ICF is getting popular on the coast. Do you see that in Alachua County much?
Yes a little bit but only rarely! Less than 1% of new homes in this area are ICF
Where I live 2x6 is code. Not allowed 2x4 exterior walls on new construction
That’s definitely the case in some parts of the country! Where are you from?
Truss the process!
😂💪
Looking good!
Thank you!
Let’s go! 🔥
